Can I track a stolen iPhone?

Long story short my girls iphone got stolen so I need a way to find out where it is cause whoever took it wont answer it. She doesn't wanna pay to get another one so I figure the easiest way is to try and track it.

iphone restore = never see iphone again...

just take the L and get her a new phone it will be easier than trying to find or track the phone
