7D >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> D90
7D > D300s

The 7D is an amazing body. There's not much competing with it right now.

That is what I figured. The 7D takes awesome photos and video. I spoke to my video friend and he said the 7D is better then large handheld cameras. I want thatbody and sell my D90 but keep my fisheye and buy the Nikon adaptor.

DO IT!! You can sell the Nikkor Fisheye and get the Sigma 10mm for the 7D.

I would actually sell my D90's soul to the devil to get a 7D.

Just gonna have to see what Nikon has in the drawing board...

I was told I could just buy an adaptor like this that is super cheap and just attach the Nikkor fisheye to the Canon body. I know people that don't knowwould say, why do that...but there is no Canon 10mm fisheye aside from the Sigma one......but why buy that over when I can just use the Nikkor one.

Like this:

You lose AF. It doesn't matter much with a Fisheye but still. I rather have AF.

Good to know. I guess I have to sell the whole thing when i get the chance. Sucks cause I just gashed the bottom of my D90 body and I am sure that brought downthe value a bit. My camera was in perfect condition too! Err......

I was thinking of getting a T1I in a couple of weeks, is a refurbished one from Adorama ok? they have a lens kit for 600

yeah...you should be straight. Adorama is legit as they come.

T1i has a refurb is not such a bad idea. I went from a Nikon d40 to an Olympus E-510, and then to a T1i.

Nikon was a really easy selling process, and I made most of my money back. The d40 is a great camera to start out with, it took about a year and a half oftaking photos before I grew out of it.

I went with the Olympus E-510 because my sister uses Oly and swears by their glass. I have to agree that Zuiko glass is superior to Canon and Nikon in theirprice range. I was also gifted a Sigma 25mm f/1.8 by my sister and it was an awesome macro lens.
It took a while to sell my Oly, but no regrets here. Still a good camera.

I got the T1i because of the Amazon deal they were running of the holidays where I got the kit, the 55-250, and a Canon 9000 printer for 1200. After therebates, and selling the printer my net cost was about $550.

I personally think the T1i is the best entry level camera. The video is pretty amazing. It may not autofocus that quickly, but that doesn't bother me abit. All-in-all I think this is the perfect camera for what I want to do, which is take recreational photos and pictures of my watches. And eBay auctions.

Im keen to start on this, in my spare time.

Nikon D90 sounds good to me. But with all technology, everything keeps upgrading. Would this camera last me in the long run?

I am becoming a true believe that you will always upgrade and eventually get to buying a full frame camera. If this is a big hobby for you, I would say maxthat you'll have the camera for like 2 years until you get something better or get a D90 replacement when Nikon makes a better mid-range camera....which Ihave a feeling they will do soon. I can already see a D100 in the near future with a better ISO and video frame rate.

I'm a Nikon SLR user (D40x), and a Canon P&S (SD1100) user.. I love both my cameras ESPECIALLY my Nikon, and I rarely use/bring my point andshoot.
I'm actually switching to a Canon SLR (T1i) later this month because I'm in a film class now for college and the HD video recording could come inhandy, plus that's all I can afford right now
I'll be experimenting with it for little while and see how it goes.

I heard Nikon's coming out with new SLR this Feburary/March replacing the D90 or the D700
a successor for the D90 should be due soon, that model has been out for a while...

^^^That sounds about right. Nikon has upgraded everything except the mid-range and the smaller full frame camera. Plus they need something better to competewith the Canon Mark II.

nah, there's so much generalization that happens when you boil it down to one brand versus another.

really, if your priority is still photography, if you can't get decent photos out of a mid range dslr, it's not the camera's or lens's fault.
there really are very few "lemons" as far as dslrs go. each brand has it's own benefits and drawbacks.
