So yesterday there was a big storm in the DMV.... and streets were flooding quickly. I drove over an area that was flooding but I made it over. As soon as Igot home, the car sputtered and turned off. I tried to turn it on but it wouldn't. I'm guessing water got into the motor, probably the distributor cap.Any tips on what I can do to fix this problem? I already wiped down the spark plug wires but I can't get the dis cap off....

Its likely that your distributor cap interior is still wet or your plug wires at the spark plugs are flooded....water may be sitting there and grounding theelectrical current to the plug. Remove the cap, see if it is wet. Remove the top engine cover and inspect the holes where the spark plus are..

If water got into the motor itself, R.I.P.

If thats the case, yourmotor is seized.

new spark plugs, distributor, wires, check intake for water. unplug the battery and reset the ecu.

i don't think any water got into the engine.
