CD X's with gutted tongue

This is what my boy (that kid dead) did with his CD Shadow X's, he gutted the tongue, but I don't even think it looks that bad.
Wat u guys think?

Not bad but its something that i would never do. I just dont believe in distorting a sneaker. If it was ment to be like that, they would have made it likethat. But nonetheless it doesnt look bad at all.

yeah, doesn't look bad at all. it actually looks kinda cool, but i'd never do that to mine either.

not so much because of the way it looks, but moreso because that will obiously take away from the comfort of the shoe.

i love the way the X's hug the foot, obviously cutting the elastic straps will take away from that.

only problem is that the tongue slides to the side

The straps that ran across the tongue, but he said if it were the kind of X that had the zebra effect on the tongue he wouldn't have done it. But sinceit was all black it didn't matter. Furthermore, I think it definitely has more of an XI feel to it now, the way the eyelets are on the side like that.
