i got da 2003, had da OG's, and just copped da 2016..they are da best iteration because:
-as bright as da OG's (2003's were darker)
-as comfy & springy as da 2003's (da OG ones were definitely not comfy)

I've never been a big fan of black/red 12's but they're nice on feet. The 2016 retro looks really good too. Death to '09 retro
