I know that pharrell is wearing black boots with white laces, camo pants and a shaved head.
I know that since im pale and have always shaved my head out of laziness, me wearing just pharrells boots could end up being a total disaster.
My family is from England... back in the days when I used to visit in the 90s id always buy docs... my cousins would always be like....ohh you like docs, just dont put in white laces and you're good.
Skinheads couldnt claim such a wide spread product as their own, so they customized the laces as a flag I guess.
