is Ty Lawson gonna be suspended for any games due to that DUI he got? we suspended Jules Camara an entire season, but UK had a zero-tolerance policy.

No. 1 Post-Grad Makes Pick
John Riek
By Dave Telep
National Recruiting Director
Posted Aug 2, 2008
Some people may not have seen this one coming. John Riek is planning to play college basketball next year and he's going to do it in the Big East.
The Cincinnati Bearcats received excellent news Saturday night.
John Riek, Scout.com's No. 1 post-graduate prospect from the past year, is headed to play in the Big East for Mick Cronin at Cincinnati.
Earlier this summer, Riek declared and eventually pulled his name out of the NBA Draft. He then had surgery on his injured knee and now is focused on his next step: playing at Cincinnati.
"Tony Stubblefield started recruiting John in March," Fatah Muraisi, Riek's advisor told Scout.com. "At the time I told him we were keeping college as an option. Tony continued recruiting him, John pulled his name out and in June we had an MRI on his knee. He had ACL surgery done on his knee. That put college as the No. 1 priority.
"The one that was actively recruiting him was Cincinnati. His stuff has been sent to the Clearinghouse and he'll be a qualifier. We don't know if he'll start school in September or December but he'll be a qualifier."
Riek said he needs time to get himself ready to play for Cronin. "I like the school, the coaches," Riek said. "Right now I need six months."
"He's going to go back and do rehab at IMG and he'll enroll in September at Cincinnati," Muraisi said. "They don't start school until Sept. 24 so he'll be down doing his rehab like he's been doing. He's supposed to be cleared to play by Dec. 1, but it's not a rush."
bull #**%, you see we got more votes in the pre-season top 25 than Louisville did.Originally Posted by Nowitness41Dirk

You know it's true, too.
Yeah, I figured I butchered his name, but didn't feel like looking it up. I'm just not a fan of coaches coming in to traditional programs and trying to elevate them into the primetime like they would have to at a lesser basketball school. I hate the whole Crean thing with the pants, and I hate the idea of the traditional Saturday day game between UNC and UK being moved to a night headliner. Neither program needs the publicity.
BGeezy ain't doing anything different, half of our games are on national tv, just like they have been in the past. i'm not sure whoseidea it was to move the game, but i like it. what would you rather the first game on ESPN be, UK/UNC or BYU/St. Mary's...or something like that. (thoughi'm not positive that the UK/UNC game will be the first on ESPN, just remember the idea being mentioned to make it the first.)
Ryan Kelly's final 6 schools---Duke, UNC, Wake Forest, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, and Georgetown. --very interesting that Duke is in final group after never being mentioned at all as a serious contender.
UVA sites continue to say that Tristan Spurlock will be a Cav, and apparently Kendall Marshall's father is saying same thing--Marshall is Spurlock's teammate on Boo Williams team. So we'll see if he even makes the visit Tuesday/Wednesday to Georgetown.

put it this way...nobody's scared of Ty Lawson.
And, of coure, the Wildcats also make a trip to Las Vegas on Thanksgiving Weekend, the same trip U of L made last year and Western Kentucky made two years ago. I went to Vegas last year. Highly recommend it.
Although I'll warn you about one thing: The arena is attached to a casino.-- the Orleans, which is about a mile West of the Strip. The games are not played in the 18,000-seat arena where UNLV plays. The Orleans is nice, but it only seats about 6,000 people. Better start looking for tickets (as well as rooms and flights) quickly if you plan to attend.
seriously? 6,000? what kinda bull +%*# is that? i was going to try to go, but damn, tickets will be a @*$%*. anybody ever been to thistourney?
