College Students Where Do you Buy Your Textbook from?

bookbyte.com ... have found many good deals on used books in basically brand new condition. Many say something wrong witht he spine, and you get it and it isjust a little cut or something, other than that the book is brand new. Also they are only a few miles from my house so i can go pick them up instead of waitingon it to be shipped.

never used chegg. it seemed that i would lose more money by renting than buying then reselling back on amazon/half

i end up paying less by buying my books and then selling them, rather than renting...i just sell them back to the textbookcompany that gives me the most money

Never liked the idea of chegg. Half.com is the same deal if you're sure they wont get a new edition cept you probably "rent" for less. I boughtmy Finance book for 84 on half.com and sold it right back on same site when school ended for 70. Paid 15 to "rent" it for the semester when itwould've cost me 60 to rent it on chegg.

Here's what you do: Go to Borders.com and order your book there. Theres no shipping charge (if there isn't a store around
you then you can call a store and ask for a free shipping code) and most books ship within a week. If you have a free borders
card (get one at a store or on the net) you get these coupons for like 25-40% off your book. You can use one coupon for
every card you have (one card per email). They don't have every texbook, but they have a large % of them. Then sell it
wherever you want.

word of advice....if the book you need has older editions, ask your professor if it's cool to buy the previous edition...a lot of them wont mind since theyunderstand the ridiculous prices.

and the other one no one has mentioned....EBAY...a lot of these super expensive books have what they call "international editions"...basically,it's a bootleg copy of the book....same content, but none of those glossy pages...straight black and white copies, softcover and all...it's meant for3rd world countries, but they still pop up on sites like ebay and even thru sellers via amazon
I remember people being heated when I told them I dropped $40 for a book they just spend $120 in the bookstore
