my thoughts on the "remastered" series.
from my understanding, they promised to get as close to the original mold, up the materials and improve overall craftsmanship.
this shoe was the first shoe i "hunted down" back in 1999. first eBay jordan purchase if you can believe that lol released in 1999. copped em in HS 2001. so i was actually pretty exciteed for this release.
havent boughten jays bc i just couldnt get down with the horrible quality/materials/mold. i.
My thoughts on quality:
copped from NTSF
worn them casually all weekend.
first thing i noticed was the leather on the toe boxes differed from one another. one was completely tumbled while the right shoe had a much smoother finish, and somewaht a mind crease down the middle, horizontally.
craftsmanship: no noticeable stitching mishaps. paint job on point. no excess glue stains.
leather quality: good. its obviously improved leathers and materials compared to the crap ive seen come out in the last couple years.
leather is not as thick cut and buttery as the 1999 version.
mold is still has a more stremlined and less bulky compared to 1999.
the blue metallic navy midsole is as shiny as i remembered back then and collar not as padded
Not as nice leather as the motorsport VI > aj4 columbia > aj3 true blue 2009(?), cement3, blk cement3 from the pack (idk about the nike air pair)
in the end, like nightwing said, the prices were going up regardless and at least they gave us a improvement to quality. but definitely not same as 1999 quality and mold as the "remastered series promised.
Overall, Im happy with the shoe. the fact that release was smooth and easy to cop, and didn't have to fight n scratch to throw 200+ after taxes was a major plus
