Computer Problem...I Need Some Help

I turned on my laptop today and it was fine until it got to the desktop. The desktop will not load. It's just black and there are no Start Menu or Taskbar.It opened up my Documents and so I can navigate from there and everything else is running fine. I'm even using it right now to get on the internet andnothing is going wrong. Just my desktop won't load.

I'm on Windows Vista if that makes a difference. I just need some things to try to fix it because I'm stuck

So no background, no icons, no nothing. Best guess I have is a virus, try to get your antivirus running if you can. Also try running it in Safe Mode.

CTRL+ATL+DELETE > Windows Task Manager>click the "processes" tab> under "image name" look for "explorer.exe" if you seeit then end the process and after ending it, while still in the task manager click File New Task "Run" then type in "explorer" and hitenter.... if you don't see the explorer already in your task manager just do the last statement hope that helps if not...gl

Just use Malewarebytes' and removed some infections and it's working again. Thanks for the help

I had this problem in Vista before. I forget what exactly I did to fix it, but it was definitely one of these:

You're gonna need to start Explorer manually as explained a couple posts above.
