He's right, the body of the bat only gets to a foot long, which depending on the person may or may not be considered 'big.' But with a 5 foot wingspan, that thing has enough bat leather on it to make half of the batsuits ever made for Hollywood with enough left over forba batgirl bikini, so it's still not a small animal either.
