No way should a sequel take nearly 6 years to release…If Reeves planned this thing out as a trilogy from the start then the majority of the story is probably already in place…No reason for huge delay after huge delay…

Plus at this rate Pattinson will be nearly 50 years old by the time this trilogy finishes out…Not very cohesive to the story about an ~early in his career~ Batman that’s being told…

There may be some behind the scenes issues. There were always rumors.

it seems like its reeves, he just said about two weeks ago that he is still finishing the script and gunn has been very adamant that no film moves forward without a finished script

i wouldnt be surprised if the delay is due to robert pattinson being in the huge new nolan film "oddysey", i think spiderman 4 is being/going to be pushed due to that as well as tom holland and zendaya are both in the film too and that comes out july of 2026

Spider-man 4 is being pushed/might be pushed back because they’re completely overhauling the script and it’s not finished yet. That’s why there have been rumors of practically everyone showing up in it.

the script rumors been ongoing for what feels like a couple of years now but it can be a combination of both

as i said in the MCU thread a while back, tom having a say what he likes in he script isnt going to bode well as he has taken a lot of questionable scripts/films under him and now the rumor is that feige completely hates whatever latest script tom supposedly liked and approved so now they are back to ground zero

but either way, looks like he'd be working with nolan first as that starts shooting early next year, they can probably starts production on Batman2 and SM4 late 2025 at the latest

it could work if as the rumor says that reeves will have control and a say to what happens to the characters

but even the dude who started the rumor started it with "i think gunn wants robert pattinson..." if you gotta start a sentence with "i think" then that sound like you arent too confident or are just guessing

While I wasn't the biggest The Batman fan, 5 and a half years for a sequel is absolutely dumb. Espicially with how traction with CBM's are generated and lost. If it takes that long to pen a sequel from Matt then that's a huge problem
