Ben if anything kept the rumors (the persistent and divisive rumors at that) afloat for not directly addressing them. He could have come out and say "the rumors are completely false" or "I will keep playing Batman after Justice League" and completely shut down the rumors. He couldn't even do that. He just talked about his enthusiasm being Batman and how WB and Reeves want him as Batman. But does Ben want to be Batman long term? Similar to him going on record and saying he's directing Batman only for it to come out a few weeks later that he isn't directing Batman. Only difference is he knows the truth and is too classy to lie to the comic con fans who support him so much. There's a reason Flashpoint is confirmed and Batgirl isn't. Plans for the Batfamily have stalled....
Regardless Justice League looks good. The red sky back drop is SUPER dope, can't front. DC is trying to build a template. If Ben wants out they shouldn't sweat it too much. Things look like they are finally coming together on their end.
exactly how I felt, there was no direct acknowledgement about him not playing Bats after JL. sounded like he was addressing a rumor that he wasn't enthusiastic about the films anymore. THR isn't like some random outlet that just posts rumors just to get clicks. They'll lose A LOT of credibility if they are wrong on this and Ben stays past JL.
It's def still a wait and see. He certainly wasn't going to bring down the panel by announcing bad news(not sure anyone at comic con has done that), if anything we'll get something after JL and more when Reeves Batman has gained more traction in preproduction
