DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - The Penguin out 9/19 then every Sunday on MAX

I can't get over the socially awkward teen with the nasally voice who stammers his words vibe he gives off.

Jesse Eisenberg is still a good actor, but I don't think he was the right choice for Lex.

I'm not a fan of the jitters and giggles. I don't think he came across as social awkward, just really unstable and lowkey sinister. All Jesse had to do in BvS was deliver his lines like this

Who's responsible for how the character is portrayed?

The actor or the director?

Social Network? Nah fam. That's basically the same frail, nasal toned, dotcom billionaire who wouldn't be able to intimidate a fly without his money or tech. That would still be one of the least believable portrayals to being Superman's (mother****** Superman!) primary nemesis.

Nah, I want that cold, intellectual high horse, no dambs given CEO attitude and I know Jessie can portray it.

And Lex's machinations did a damn good job of having Superman damn near ready to give up on life in BvS.

Maybe a CEO of Yahoo... or Facebook. You would still get all of that with a proper Lex portrayal. Only he would be a more physically intimidating industrialist. And he would look like someone who could put on a powered suit and throw down with Supes. Instead of kidnapping his mom Martha.

Lex isn't a physical character; it's Superman's job to be physical. I'm not concerned with him "throwing down" with Supes because it's his intellect that allows him to be his arch nemesis in the first place. Physically speaking he's looked different throughout the years.

I agree about the powered suit, but that's the writing and not the actor. I don't have a physical expectation for any character who puts on a powered suit.

I think Jesse is a refreshing take on Lex because like I said before, Lex has always gone through changes or updates in his appearance, demeanor, mental stability, or the source of his wealth throughout the decades. I only have a problem with the jitters/giggles/the apparent insanity, and the lack of clear motivation (Which we all know, but it should have been communicated properly in the movie)

Jesse Eisenberg's Lex is the most different from the classic interpretation. Those examples you posted are all medium-to-bigger built dudes who look like prime examples of industrialist tycoons.

BVS had Martin Shkreli.

Seent the extended edition. Some scenes transitioned better. Some questions were answered. Not all. More Clark which was pretty much the only improvement to me. The added scenes didn't change much. Ill have a full review later.

I just feel like "Industrialist Tycoon" is not the billionaire of 2016

Also forgot to mention that WB intended this Lex to be more of a composite of "classic" and Earth 3

That's more due to the political/racial atmosphere than anything else. Trump has been running for years.

Side note: Harvey Dent appears to not be Two-Face yet in DCeU

I just finished watching Dawn of Justice: Ultimate Edition. It was alright, but long as hell.

Other than the F-word being said twice, I don't really know how it got an R-rating.

I didn't see the theatrical version and probably never will either.

Probably for the Batfleck cheeks. But I couldn't stand dudes nasally, quirky Lex. I can't even look at him the same anymore.

Two f bombs usually means a R rating according MPAA.

Like in DOFP when Charles told Logan to **** off, that's allowed only once for a pg 13 movie.

I think the Martian had two, but then that gets into territory of big studios then putting pressed on the MPAA to get certain ratings.

WB don't got that muscle :lol

For a 3+ hr movie I just assume those f bombs were spaced out.

The batman scenes were more brutal I think. Two instsnces in which Battfleck hed bashed people
