DC Studios THREAD - GunnVerse Begins - The Penguin out 9/19 then every Sunday on MAX

Comicbookgirl has already publicly stated multiple times that she doesn't like the DCEU or "trust" that they can make a good movie. I don't think she's the most objective source for these films. I can almost guarantee she won't give SS a positive review.
what do you think her opinion of fox/singer is?

because she loved deadpool

That's good you're still going, but you seein the same tweets I am, people already deading DC, etc. Lot of folks got their mind made up, yet to see the damn thing. :lol

Like Kane touched on, Media drivin everybody, and sheep just fall in line. IM3 was a wreck, but everyone kinda glosses over it, well, it wasn't "that" bad. I agree, took a legit villian and made him a cartoon joke complete with bathroom jokes and the whole nine. Took a billionaire genius out of his protective Iron suit and gave him water balloons and a hoody, how could that movie fail?????? :lol

We got a review ripping Snyder, for a movie he didn't do. I mean........ :lol :{

It's whatever.

If people see it, and don't like it, hey, you don't like a film you wanted to. But I suspect a lot of folks just followin the group think and afraid to say hey, that was decent actually. Iono, people seem to have issues making up their own minds these days, easier to just let the jokes flow thru Twitter/NT etc and then follow along with the masses.

Well that's not everyone, for me especially with these comic book movies it just tempers/heightens expectations to a degree for me going in.

Just from this year wasn't expecting much from Deadpool, got really good reviews before I saw it so I was anticipating a little more and it actually exceeded.

For Bats v Supes was already kinda iffy on it due to casting choices but these are the two most notable super heros in all of comics so they can't screw it up that bad right? But yea they did, the reviews before lowered my excitement a bit, but ultimately it was warranted.

It's really DC's fault though outside of Nolan everything else recently has been a train wreck, it's an expected snowball effect.

i think marvel's shortcomings are pretty well acknowledged (IM2 and 3, thor movies and for some cap 1).. but people don't get overly defensive when you call the bad, bad with them (which is where the fan boys should be easily spotted)

but marvel still got a really good batting average to give them the benefit of the doubt going into movies like GOTG and antman (and dr strange later this year)

I don't know. I've just seen her speak on the DCEU before and she seems pretty averse to it.

I can cosign this. Still looking forward to her review. You can usually tell when she's being biased or objective tho.
she's a huge xmen fan (watch her xmen history videos, if any of you guys haven't gotten  chance).. she's definitely not a fan of fox (don't remember what she said about fan4tastic)

but, she loved deadpool
Xmen are her all time favorite comicbooks and characters so she hates singer a lot for his movies. It's gotta pain her to know they won't get the movies they deserve under fox.
yup

MoS was a great movie to me. I don't see why people throw it in the cache of "bad DC movies"
i didn't say it was bad.. didn't think it was that great either

could have easily waited to watch it at home for free, which is what i wish i did

BVS def has aspects I didn't like and it could of improved in certain areas, but it's not a "bad" movie to me. I don't understand how people can give praise to Batfleck and Jeremy Iron's performances or talk about how dope Wonder Woman was or how they liked the action/fight choreography/Knightmare scene/warehouse scene, etc., but then proceed to say it had no redeeming qualities and is as bad as they say it to be. It seems like a lot of hyperbole.

It's not the best CBM. Far from it. The theatrical cut had flow problems, but I still found it enjoyable and the lowest I'd give it would be maybe a 6.5/10. To me it was about a 7.5. There are waaay worse movies out there. I love both sides of these CBM's and I get more excited every time they expand the MCU with another character and I just want to see both flourish and see DC go deep into their roster like Marvel is doing so we can see these characters realized in live action. I know I'm not the only one excited to see a Booster Gold film. I see you KingdomFlatbush KingdomFlatbush . 8o

^ people do take a lot of good things away from BvS

a perfect example, people loved ryan Reynolds as deadpool in wolverine orgins.. still a horrible film

BvS, was not that bad.. but it was still a bad movie

Whatever redeeming qualities that Bats v Supes may have had were all but negated by EisenLex, Doomsday, the very haphazard way the story was progressed, an ultimately how damn long it took for Bats and Supes to actually fight. If they literally would have just followed the exact same plot as the Dark Knight Returns and cast someone better as Lex it would have been immensely better.

Don't forget the only reason they filmed Batman's origin scene: The Martha moment.

I didn't even mention the Martha fiasco cause it was so stupid.

should have just been a MOS sequel, dealing with the fallout of the events of that movie.. and have lex doing all the bruce wayne stuff of freaking out and be irrational about supes

still allows you to introduce the JL folks

you do 'the dark knight returns' as an isolated film.. do it as a period piece (could use elements of watchmen)

I didn't really care for MOS but in retrospect but you're right. I think WB/DC panicked with the success and head start Marvel had and just tried to throw whatever big names they could on the screen out as far as possible. They were going to make money regardless, just off name recognition alone so why not actually try and develop the universe through at least a couple films first.

after MOS..

they literally should have done the individual films of the JL members as they existed prior to those events, then you can sorta do some sort of POV where you see the impact the events of MOS had from their perspective

I WOULD HAVE done that with batman, WW and aquaman (so you establish their worlds outside of everyone together).. then you could have those events causing cyborg's injuries.. and maybe have it cause the death of barry allen's mother

so when you have the MOS sequel.. WW and aquaman show up to check out superman and what's going on with men.. and batman shows up to investigate him.. then they have to help him out when lex uses kryptonite to incapacity him

Y'all know the DKR comic is an alternate future timeline not necessarily in the continuity right? They used minor aspects of the story for BVS and they had an older veteran Batman, but Supes is younger and pretty green in the DCEU.

Yeah, they fast tracked the Justice League, but they're damned if they do damned if they don't. It was either they were copying Marvel with the cinematic universe or they should of done all of the JL solos like Marvel did with their cinematic universe. I personally don't mind them showing up in the ensemble before the solos. I think it makes the JL members more recognizable and gives them more familiarity. Making it easier to sell the solos to general audiences who don't read comics or know the characters. When the average moviegoer witnesses Momoaquaman do bad*** things in JL, they'll be more likely to want to watch the solo.

well aware

and if they go the route i suggested above, they aren't following marvel.. and it's pretty simple (unlike what they actually did)

hell, they could have done the MOS sequel i suggested above.. and then go back to telling the individual stories like what they are doing now.. but probably is best to do the individual movies, so you feel the impact the events had on all of the characters
