This season will definately motivate dwight to work on his game this off season

This season will be the gift or the curse of his career moving forward
This season will definately motivate dwight to work on his game this off season
If you told me you saw a pig flying over a zebra changing it's stripes, I would believe that quicker than I would believe what you just said about Dwight.

kobe and nash needs to run that pnr more often :smokin

glad nash went at dwight. move your damn feet. you couldnt even get good positioning against bosh or anthony

I don't get you sometimes, you want Dwight back so much, but he is playing like **** and his body language just screams he wants to leave, yet you have Pau, who isn't what he used to be, but he's trying out there and when he's started in place of Dwight, has played well.

Then you hate Blake, whose done a pretty decent job and has somewhat fixed our backup point guard problem. Would you rather trot out Duhon or Morris?

Who are we going to get for Pau? There is nobody in the league that makes us better, you want to start building for the future? You want to trade Pau for young players? Then you are giving up this last window of Kobe and Nash, because nothing i've seen from Dwight this year has showed me he's a dominant center, or is going to be the centerpiece for a championship team.

Prove me wrong Dwight, show me something. I don't want to hear from your dad or your mom, or you seven baby momma's. Show me something, give me a 25 and 15 game, be the defensive juggernaut that you claim to be.

Agreed. When it's all said and done, Pau Gasol's career > Dwight Howard's.

Essential is in love with the "sexiness" and "appeal" the Dwight Howard name brings to the table. The story line and history of Wilt, Kareem, Shaq the Lakers have, he so desperately wants for Dwight Howard. Essential believes in this "Dwight" idea so much, he's never doubted the fact Dwight may leave, he's never considered trading Dwight, he never acknowledges Dwight's attitude, and barely criticizes Dwight's game.

Essentials not alone tho, because these views are shared by either Mitch or Jim Buss, whoever is pulling the strings right now. They're going all-in for Dwight when in all honesty, they shouldn't. Huge gamble for a mediocre reward - in my opinion.

What does Pau's career have to do with Dwight's... Honestly, it has nothing to do with it..

I'm in for the play. Is he at the expectations we want? No.

Even then he is still only one of nine players with 2 BPG. one of 9 with 10 RPG. Out of every NBA player. Only 2 have 10 RPG & 2BPG.

Shooting 57% from the field. It's not like he's missing more.. He is just getting less shots.

Out of every PF & Center.. 10 score more points per game.. All 10 shoot at least 2 more times. On average about 4 more times. The highest scorer, Lamarcus Aldridge scores 5 more points on almost 8 more shots.

So pardon me. If a "mediocre" season gives you those results, especially after an injury. And I see what it is for what it is...

Dwight was a defensive juggernaut. But he also didn't have a team expect for him to bail them out every time. They actually put in the work on every play.. This defense not so much. Look at every play when Nash or Blake get burned.. Dwight comes over to help. Does exactly what he is supposed to do. Stop the PG from getting to the basket.. WHERE IS THE ROTATION? It didn't happen. So the PG just makes the dish, and easy basket. Oh that's right, you want him to stop the PG.. Then when he passes to cover 10 feet for a block...

I can criticize his game. Yes, he has mediocre post moves. Pau has superb post moves..

But even in a mediocre season.. You give Pau & Dwight the same amount of touches as "the man" Dwight still performs as well as Pau offensively, and then crushes him defensively...

Edit:

I looked up another stat.. How do the players do with 15 shots or more a game. Just this season.

Dwight (5 games): 28.6 ppg
Pau (8 games): 19.12 ppg

F the 2014 set up man. Losing Ariza already hurt my soul.

Losing Ariza 2.0 would just kill me.

We can't afford to lose the only damn athleticism we have on this team. He's literally THEE only young and athletic player we have. And we gonna let him go so we can once again be the slow and old lakers in 2013...just for a damn 2014 offseason. Gimme a break.

:rollin at making sure to sign Earl ******g Clark and ignore the 2014 set up.

Man.....

That set up will likely come and go... I'm telling you 2015 is a much better year.

2014:
PG: You can either max out John Wall on a qualifier. Or send Kyle Lowry a near max. We will still have Nash, so that's not happening
SG: If Kobe comes back. That's max. So Nash + Kobe + Dwight = $48 mil of $62 mil tax.
SF: You can hope Lebron or Melo opt out. Melo won't. Lebron most likely wait a year or two more if he does.

2014 offseason is going to be a meh couple of months

What are you babbling about?

You think Kobe is going to ask for 20 million at 35, going on 36 for the 2014 season? :lol

There is one contract on the books for a reason. Signing Earl Clark is not that reason.

Clark is going to cash out just like Lin did.

You guys want to erase 2014 to re-sign Earl, Clark. :lol

Earl, Clark.

Ask the Heat if they wish they kept Michael Beasley instead of Bron and Bosh. Wonder what they'll say.

We are the L.A. LAKERS people, please think bigger than Earl Clark.

Seriously.

Just in case you didn't see the stat that I added:

15 shots per game or more:

Dwight (5 games) 28.6ppg
Pau (8 games): 19.12 ppg

Lmao tell me whos the bron and bosh of the 2014 fa class

He thinks Lebron will opt out in 2014.

He has a few years after where he can opt out... Lebron won't opt out until he knows the Heat are not going to win..

Besides Lebron. John Wall for a max..

Wheres as 2015.
You have Rondo unrestricted free agent, Melo unrestricted free agent, Lamarcus Aldridge unrestricted free agent. Lebron has another opt out. Kevin Love will opt out. Rubio is a restricted free agent. Rudy Gay free agent.

I find it incredibly fascinating that Nash is saying EVERYTHING Kobe says about Dwight. Nash and Kobe are obviously polar opposites, yet they see Dwight the exact same way.

That's not good.

Total opposites, but the same "No Excuse" mentality.

Dwight has checked out mentally. That's what irritates me, he's a basket case.

Lol not sure if your joking but yao was the best center in the game after shaq hit rock bottom his last year with the heat

Dwight was never better then yao never

really? you have to be ******g kidding me

yao was hurt half his career which was only 8 ******g years and most of the games he was out of breath come 4th quarter...

so you are telling me he was better than dwight howard for four years?

even though dwight had more rebounds and more blocks. and a better fg percentage?

again when was yao the best center?

you putting too much into yao dude

Lmao tell me whos the bron and bosh of the 2014 fa class

Well, Bron and Bosh for starters........ :lol :lol :lol

They are not Free Agents.. They have the ability to opt out..

Bosh will not opt out of $20million. Or $22million the next year.

Again Lebron will not opt out of $20 mil either. Not because of the money, but he won't opt out if the Heat still have a shot.

Even then.. If we have Earl Clark, Dwight and Nash signed up.. There is still room for Lebron... And if Kobe wants to he'd have to play for the huge pay cut well below Max that you think he will take.

Nobody on that list Other than Melo & Rondo is the type a player to build around

It's better than hoping Lebron opts out. Or paying a max to John Wall..

Waiting 1 year wouldn't kill us. And is a much smarter strategy.. If you go into a weak Free Agency year (2014) with a lot of money in cap.. You are forced to spend a certain amount. Meaning you will end up with ****** deals for no reason.

Man.....

yea earl clark may look good out there but im not buying that hes actually that good.

if you have a team of nash, kobe, dwight, and pau surrounding you you would look good too.

hes pretty bad on defense

here are players I would be down to go after in free agency:
K-Love
Westbrook
Kyrie
LeBron

that's about it.

I'd love to see us start building through the draft, should've done this earlier.

We're not building around him... We are simply keeping him... Are we suddenly losing Nash Kobe and Dwight?

We won't be giving him a max. And I highly doubt any team goes more than 3 years with him

I honestly can't wait for 2014 to happen.. And we sign a bunch of **** Free Agents and are committed to them because 1. it is a weak free agency 2. we are forced to have a floor salary.
