I'm with you CP. If these dudes find a way to make it out of the first round I'll consider it a success. I know you won't but I never pegged us to win the chip this year. I'll be happy if we make it to round 2.
x2
don't act like it doesn't matter to you if we make the Playoffs and lose or not make the Playoffs
since both scenarios won't give us the chip. You know damn well making the Playoffs and
generating some noise will be good for us coming into next season. No one's contented with
a losing season, but we WILL appreciate the effort Kobe, Metta, Nash and Earl Clark puts into
every game to bring us as far as possible.
Naw man, making the playoffs and losing in the first round 4-0, or making the playoffs and losing in the Finals 4-3 is the same thing to me.
Losing.
We've seen enough good fortune in our Laker lives to know what does and doesn't matter. Just being happy reaching the playoffs is not acceptable. Think about the Smush days, we made the playoffs, we had some good games, we made "noise" and then we sat and watched the next three rounds.
2008 didn't make me feel any better than 2007 did, other than I knew our team was built stronger, Bynum/Ariza comin back the next year, etc. Strong, solid, YOUNG team.
This squad, this year, isn't that. We don't KNOW Dwight will be back. We don't KNOW Kobe can keep this up. We don't KNOW if Pau will get dealt. Honestly, we don't KNOW anything for next season.
Here's what I do KNOW. If we start bein cool with "well, we made the playoffs at least, and we made some "noise" then we become like 28 other NBA teams, just happy to be there. 2, and only 2 have the same mindset. Banner or bust.
I'm sure that you can figure out which two those are. And then when you think about it, WHY those 2 teams are that way, and also seem to be the ones that have the most banners, maybe the answer will come to you.
