the ship was going to be torn down or something..managed to come across two of these pieces before it was...
if its made of pure silver and gold...am i looking at a couple thousand??

I'm Greek and the writing is Greek.  I can't really read it the pic is a bit small.
It's an icon that alot of Greeks have (different versions) and I'm pretty sure that it's St. Peter or St. Nicholas with Jesus and Mary.  A couple I have a priceless as they are family icons passed down through quite a few generations, but I doubt the actual monetary value would be high.

PM me better pics if you want, if you want a translation.

As for value I can't tell you (is it really gold or silver) but if what you are saying is true, then I imagine that it is probably worth quite alot.
