i was at disneyland sat-mon and it was crowded everyday (especially sat). Some of the wait times were ridiculous, some rides reached over 3 hrs. back in the day (90's/00's), you could walk onto rides like pirates, haunted mansion, it's a small world and all the rides in fantasyland (except peter pan), now 30-40 minutes minimum (depending on time of day).

hell about 5 years ago u could

definitely go to the halloween party if you have the chance, i think at times parks aren't as crowded early on especially dca because dl closes early and people get that out of the way first and then jump to dca once dl closes for the party

pirates and indiana jones were 5 minutes and for indiana jones that's pretty much just the walk from the entrance to the ride :lol

only ride that was long was haunted mansion really at 30m (which isn't bad), everything else was a walk through or 10minute wait like big thunder and space mountain but for haunted just time it during one of the parades (they have two parades) and it's a walkthrough too

longest lines wasn't even for an attraction but for the trick or treat section and only lines in tomorrowland and new orleans square, there are plenty in other paths that has little to no lines if you're after candy

parade is cool and fireworks are great but you'll get tired of the this is halloween song :lol

Disney World Raises Its Prices

It's going to cost a bit more to park or be a passholder at Disney's (NYSE: DIS) sprawling theme park resort in Florida. Disney World is boosting the parking lot prices at its four theme parks by at least 11%, with the biggest percentage move coming for standard parking -- up 14% to $25 for cars and motorcycles.

Parking has always been included for passholders, but those annual ransoms also went up on Tuesday. Annual passes for the four different tiers are now 3% to 9% higher than they were earlier in the week, with the largest percentage increase for the cheapest Silver pass, which is blacked out during the summer and the seasonally active holiday breaks.

Part of your world

The increases coincide with Tuesday's shift to date-specific pricing for one-day and multiday tickets, along with the introduction of an online planning tool to help better prepare guests for the sticker shock and pricing nuances. But unlike the move to date-specific day-guest parking that was announced ahead of time in late September, the new prices for parking and passes were unveiled just as they took effect for arriving guests on Tuesday.

Disney doesn't typically announce price increases, which inspires guests to book early to lock in current pricing before any potential hikes. However, the rite is mapped by enthusiasts like windstorm trackers. Annual prices have gone up in the fall, and one-day pricing has been jacked up on a Sunday in February for five consecutive years.

Social media heats up whenever Disney boosts its prices at its theme parks. Folks will say that Disney is getting too greedy, and that they will stop coming.

Shareholders don't need to panic: It's just talk. As long as the global economy is holding up and Disney is adding new attractions, the guests will keep coming -- and they will be paying more than they did a year earlier. Disney's theme parks and resorts segment was the only business to grow its revenue and operating profit at the media giant in fiscal 2017.

This won't be the last hike. Disney World is expected to introduce Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge late in 2019, the industry leader's most ambitious expansion project in years. Several other new rides and attractions will open in the next three years as Disney World gears up for its 50th anniversary. The pricing moves might not be popular with park guests, but shareholders don't seem to be complaining.

Posted in the Disney movie thread initially lol

I'm going to Goofy's Kitchen next Saturday, where would be the best spot to park?

nawghtyhare nawghtyhare the PB&J pizza is starting to look good to me lol.

There prices ain’t even that expensive
Disneyland still higher

What are some must-do things ya'll do at both parks to get the most out of your visit?

max passes are a must. save you time from walking back and forth to get fastpasses.

i would say if you want to be there open to close definitely schedule yourself a break in there. if you don’t youre gonna burn out before close

i know there’s more, i’m just brain dead right now :lol

Enjoy the details in everything, and be patient. I've came to the realization that 4 to 5 things to "schedule" is all that's possible anymore with the crowds. You'll do more than that, but the disappointment wont be there. Max pass is clutch, too. That's kind of a tough question because a majority of us in here go multiple times and dont have must dos, more like next times. My list would be 1. Haunted mansion for the holidays, the fam loves nightmare before Christmas, 2. Halloween parade, the fam loves it, 3. gotg, 4. the new lemon icee thing, and 5. go back asap. And sour apple churros. Yeah, sour apple churros.

i thought naughty posted some tips and tricks on the first post?

did it get deleted?

BREAKING: Full Attraction, Restaurant, & Store Lineup Revealed for MARVEL Super Hero Land at Disneyland Resort

While construction has already begun on a MARVEL Super Hero themed land at Disney California Adventure, details have been scarce on exactly what will be located in this land come 2020. As Disney stated, 2020 will bring about phase 1 of the land, with a planned 2nd phase following a year or two later. If there are plans beyond these two phases, they aren’t green-lit just yet and it’s unclear exactly where further attractions and such will go (although the removal of more of Hollywood Land seems likely). Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves and focus on what’s already in the works…

As guests enter through the former Bountiful Valley Farm area, they’ll pass under a marquee and walk down a long passage between Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree in cars Land and the former “it’s tough to be a bug” Theater.

The former “it’s tough to be a bug” Theater building is being repurposed for the new Spider-Man attraction where guests are given a web-shooter of their own to use. The ride appears to be mostly screen-based (likely 3D in nature), so think Toy Story Midway Mania, but with guests shooting webs instead of darts, balls, and rings. The entrance to the building will be rerouted to the opposite side of so it can be accessed from the hub of this new land. The central hub is a large Avengers symbol in the ground that is surrounded by all of the land’s offerings. Think of this as The Avengers’ California Campus.

The Spider-Man queue is attached to the former “tissue box” restrooms of A Bug’s Land, which will be remodeled and kept for the new area.

Nearby, Doctor Strange has his own show experience where guests will meet the Avenger in a round courtyard. We expect this to be similar to an offering currently on the Disney Cruise Line.

If you’re hungry, there are some dining options nearby. There is a counter service restaurant and microbrewery in the plans. Who do you theme a microbrewery to? Well, Ant-Man of course. This explains the giant canned beverage that appears on the poster. This can will be located on the second level of the building.

The giant canned beverage sits on top of the Ant-Man microbrewery.
While we’re looking at the poster, it’s worth noting that what you see is what you will get. While not absolutely true to life, this will pretty much be the view guests will have down the main thoroughfare of the Marvel land heading towards Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission Breakout.

The Quinjet is located in front of the Phase 2 offering (not flying like in the poster), a truly massive Avengers E-Ticket attraction that is expected to be a roller coaster. As for story elements or anything beyond that, details are scarce at this point. All we know is that it is HUGE in scale.

This is concept art for the Hong Kong Disneyland Marvel area, but the boxy Avengers building on the left should house the very same roller coaster being built at Disney California Adventure.
As for shopping opportunities, a large shop sits near the second phase Avengers ride, with a smaller shop located across from the Spider-Man attraction.

You’ll be happy to know that Phase 1 and 2 do not touch the Red Car Trolley attraction that runs from Mission Breakout down to Buena Vista Street, so that will be sticking around.

All of this information has been confirmed by internal documents at this point, so none of the above is much of a rumor. Certainly, thematic elements could change, but the overall plan mapped out above is what you will see rolling out in phases at Disney California Adventure starting in 2020.

DISNEYLAND MARVEL SUPER HERO LAND DETAILED
Share.
Phase one is coming in 2020.
BY COLIN STEVENS New information on the Marvel-themed area at Disney California Adventure has been revealed, including details on attractions, restaurants and stores.

As reported by WDW News Today, construction on the first phase of these Marvel attractions is well underway, with “Stark Industry” fences blocking off multiple areas that are currently undergoing renovations. The central hub of the Marvel-centric area is expected to be a large Avengers symbol surrounded by the various Marvel attractions.

Following A Bug’s Land’s closure in September to make room for the Marvel area, the “It’s Tough to Be A Bug” theater is reportedly being repurposed into a new Spider-Man attraction where guests are given a web-shooter apparatus to use in the ride. Rumors suggest it will be primarily screen-based, like Toy Story Midway Mania. A Doctor Strange live show is expected to take place in a nearby courtyard, and will likely be similar to a stage show offered on the Disney Cruise Line.

Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: Breakout! has been in California Adventure since it replaced the Tower of Terror in 2017, and will naturally remain a part of the new Marvel area. The first phase of the Marvel area is expected to open in 2020, with future phases rolling out in the following years. These phases are rumored to introduce something involving the Quinjet, which may or may not be related to the reportedly “massive” Avengers e-ticket attraction that is believed to be a rollercoaster.

There is a rumored counter service restaurant and microbrewery in development, with the microbrewery potentially being Ant-Man themed. A large shop will reportedly be near the second phase Avengers ride, and a smaller shop will sit across from the Spider-Man attraction.

All of this neatly aligns with the promotional poster Disney released for the Marvel area in March, which includes Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, a large can that likely relates to the Ant-Man microbrewery, and the Quinjet. Black Panther is notably also present in the poster, though no Black Panther related areas have been announced.

Even if this area will be directly related to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Disney reportedly can’t use the Marvel name in the area or for its attractions due to a 1994 contract with Universal Parks and Resorts. Therefore, no official names for the area or attractions have been announced.

We first caught wind that Spider-Man and Avengers themed attractions were coming to California Adventure back in 2017, and found out earlier this year that three Disney parks would be receiving Marvel areas, including Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland.

Disney theme parks: The happiest — and ashiest — place on Earth

Some people enjoy Disney World and Disneyland so much that they never leave.

Despite years of denials from the House of Mouse, an urban legend has been confirmed: Human ashes are regularly scattered at the theme parks.

Loved ones of the recently deceased are known to place the remains on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, the Dumbo ride, near Cinderella’s castle — pretty much everywhere, according to a new report in the Wall Street Journal. It happens about once a month, often enough that custodians know to call for a “HEPA cleanup” with a special vacuum cleaner when it does.

The most popular place for people to spread ashes? “The Haunted Mansion probably has so much human ashes in it that it’s not even funny,” an unnamed custodian told the newspaper.

One employee said she and her co-workers got in trouble for referring to such incidents as “Code Grandma.”

For guests, there are consequences for getting caught.

“This type of behavior is strictly prohibited and unlawful,” a company spokeswoman told the Journal. “Guests who attempt to do so will be escorted off property.”

The act of spreading ashes without permission is a misdemeanor, according to a spokesman for the Anaheim (Calif.) Police Department.

But there are plenty of people willing to take the risk, if it means their beloved friend or family member can spend eternity with Mickey Mouse and pals. They just hide the ashes in Ziploc bags or pill bottles when they come to the park.

Jodie Jackson Wells went with the latter in 2009 when she brought her mom’s ashes to Disney World, where she sprinkled them on the It’s a Small World ride and in front of Cinderella’s Castle.

“Anyone who knew my mom knew Disney was her happy place,” Wells told the Journal.

When people like Wells do get caught, theme park employees reportedly shut the ride down for “technical difficulties” until any visible ashes are removed.

So that’s what they’re doing…
