Update on going to Disneyland & CA for the Halloween party last Wednesday....
Spent the first half of the day at CA and it was the same old. Took my 2 yr old son to ride Monster's inc, some of the rides in Cars Land & Bugs Life. Wasn't busy at all which was good. Only gripe was that it was hot...95 degrees. I don't know what it is but we always tend to go when it's hot out. I did see Nick Lachey and his Wife, Vanessa and their kids. They were in the Cars Land store and Vanessa asked me if I was in line. Lol. Then they later sat near us at Smokejumpers Cafe.
Around 5pm we headed over to Disneyland to get ready for the Halloween Party. They give you bracelets, candy bags, a map of where the candy stations are, and a flyer showing info and times of the parade, fireworks, characters, etc...the park was decorated with a Halloween theme obviously and it was super cool.
Around this time, they start to announce that the park will be closing at 6pm and I could see the "Wteffff" faces on some of the people there cuz they had no idea what was going on. Felt kinda bad but funny at the same time. Lol. Right at 6, the workers set rope off areas in the different parts of the park trying to usher people out who didn't buy tickets for the Halloween party. If you are trying to get to a certain area or ride, etc...they see if you have a bracelet. If you have one, you are good to go.
My son dressed up as Woody and we hit up the candy stations throughout the park. It was pretty cool cuz workers were giving away candy and diff. treats to adults/kids with bags. It was cool to see kids dressed up and some adults were dressed up as well. The best part was being able to go on rides with no lines. My son loves the Small World ride and we just walked straight to the front. We could've went a 2nd time but opted to walk around. We saw a couple Disney character dressed up which my son loved and was going crazy. At around 8:30-9pm, they start the parade. We were on Main St and waited on a bench right in the front for about 1.5 hours so we can get a nice view. And having a 2 yr old wait for that long did not make things easy. The parade finally started and it wasn't what I expected. I was expecting Disney characters dressed up in Halloween costumes but it was mainly Disney villains and people in costumes like the headless horseman, etc... So my son wasn't really into it because he didn't recognize any characters. Even though I was let down by the parade, I knew the fireworks would be next but it was cancelled due to weather conditions (slight winds). So that was again, a bummer. The last 3 times we've gone to Disneyland, they cancelled the fireworks.
Would I do the Halloween party again? Probably. My son loved it and that's all that matters to me. Next time, I'll skip the parade and ride more rides and try to see more Disney characters. I bought one of those autograph books for my son
