Not sure if the legalities but I never understood why they don't just upload their stuff to YouTube. At least make some money off it. They send takedowns to certain channels who upload their 240p copies

I was mainly talking about lost technology like the tape player components.

It's not necessarily Capitalism, you could have a completely different type of government and have this happen. It's basically people abandoning something for whatever reason. (money is a big reason most of the time)
