Dog breeds

Everyone who wants a husky, I got mine last may, he's 8 months old now. It's not just a lot of work at the beginning, it's a lot of work forever.Your dog will become your child if you're adopting by yourself. Be prepared to sacrifice a lot of your time and a lot of your social life. Don't buythe dog if you're gonna just leave him at home alone all day and night and never take him walking/running. Mine cries for attention all of the time, but heloves everyone that he meets so you don't have to worry about a mean dog.

If you're ready for the commitment though, they are amazing dogs, very energetic though. Expect to walk him/her at least once a day. Huskies are very calmin the summer bc they're always tired, but once winter time rolls around you need to get them to outside enough to exercise off all the energy.

Just a word, huskies are extremely intelligent, my guy figured out how to open most of his doggy-gates and he picks up tricks very easily as well.

Goodluck

My dad had to reinforce every single fence at his house and still has towatch the dogs when he puts them out. These dogs are sneaky as hell. I dont even know how many times I've had to run around my neighborhood looking formine.

Beagle

I have a mini beagle myself who just turned a year this past August. He's very friendly to other people. He hardly sheed's at all.

My dog is seriously a chick magnet whenever I take him for walks at dog parks.

Beagles arent guard dogs though.

Thanks guys, out of all your suggestions and after researching them briefly for now, I like the Shiba, Akita, Labrador, and the golden retriever. Everyone tells me Boxers are great but I want a nicer, kinder looking dog.

if you want a dog that doesn't shed, you should scratch the akita off your list. they shed like no other.

and boxers are mean looking? since when?

crazy.... boxers>____.

I had a Lab for 12 years. They are the nicest dogs around, the only real negative I can think of is they shed a +##*!$!#.

Shibas look cool, but are they as moody as this one?

but I will not trade my pitbull Princess for anything, I even broke up with a couple of broads for her, one of the most loyal dogs you can have.

Yeah I didnt know that about Akitas. Damn my family might not let me get a boxer cause of the way it looks. I would like one though. Hmm Boxer,Lab, golden, shiba are the ones I guess. Any other suggestions

Whatever dog breed you get do NOT get a Jack Russell Terrier .

The biggest make people make when they get this dog is they don't realize how hyper & smart these dogs are. These dog will seriously make your lifemiserable with their attitude & temperaments. They seriously will wake you up in the middle of the night while you sleep, will tear up & destroyeverything in your house just to get an owners attention. They can even get violent and bite their owners & random people.

The sad part is whenever I visit animal shelters or humane society's I always see a bunch of Jack Russell Terriers there

Buyt yeah my next dog is going to be a Golden Retriever. I got my mini Beagle because at the time I was living at my condo and didn't have space for a bigdog.

I really seem to like the Boxer. When I was a kid, our neighbor had one that was always outside and kept barking at me and anyone who passed by really loud.
He used to scare the crap out of me. Since then I always thought Boxers were in the same class in terms of aggressiveness as pitbulls or dobermans so I neverthought of them. But after looking them up they seem to be at the top of the list in terms of being great family dogs, friendly and loyal. Do they get reallybig?

Good looks to everybody responding, I dont want to quote and respond to each one. But thanks. Yeah I get the person who said dont get one if you wont give itattention, I always was afraid of dogs growing up but felt bad for the ones tied up outside.
