Dressing Better Vol 2.0

Whats the date we need to have our SS gift sent out by?

-Fresh

Try to have them out not later than Dec. 10-12th. I know some people may be leaving out of the state or country so you may want to reach out to Adrian, Jason or myself to see if that is the case with your elf.

What is the allen edmonds shoe bank? It is a "seconds" store. AE "seconds" are new but have some flaw (often quite minor) that caused them to flunk quality control.

I just ordered a pair of clifton's for $149 today, and will surely post pictures once they arrive. If you do wish to take advantage of these prices without seeing the flaw. Here's their number: 1(262) 284 - 7158. Just go ahead and tell him what shoe, color, and size you want!

Reviews i looked up:

"This store is a true outlet of AE. So, this means that unlike most outlets in the country, they don't make CRAP for their outlets. These are true 2nds. When I say 2nds, I mean...a small scuff on the bottom (yes the bottom) or a place on the leather that might have a micro imperfection."

"Marvelous place to spend few hundred dollars. For a newer menswear shopper; the staff certainly treat you like a gentleman. The shoes are everything that the reviews say they are. So far I am very impressed and plan to put on quite a few miles with them."

come tax time i'm hitting up either indochino or black lapel for a new suit for general use, haven't bought a full suit in quite some time mostly rocking blazers, cardigans etc for job interviews up till now, but i'm going back to finish my degree in graphic design and soon will be stepping it up for internships and professional interviews.

anyone had experience with both and got any input, also for general use (dates/interviews/parties/etc) do you think this essential blue suit is too much or should i go with the essential navy which is a bit darker but I really dig the color of the essential blue (according to the picture).

I got one made three years ago, and it came out horribly fit-wise, not to mention the material was doodoo. Don't know whether they've upgraded their quality since then, but if it's still the same as three years ago, I'd stay away.

^their customer service is good and you can always return it and get a new one with edited measurements and then get another tailoring after that. material was alright but i used a coupon so i didn't complain

Yeah, it's not that bad of a deal, but there are a LOT better alternatives (e.g. going on eBay, buying a pre-owned name brand Italian-made suit that generally fits you, and making some alterations until it fits perfectly).

A few months ago, I copped a pre-owned Savile Row bespoke in great condition, made with top-of-the-line Zegna cloth, that almost fit me to a tee, for a little over $300.

ok in that case, what would be your suggestion for about $500, i would assume suit supply and i only went with indochino or black lapel because of the customization, but if its not up to the par would you guys recommend suit supply over ludlow?

if it matters i'm 6'2 about 218, and usually wear a 44r

edit: with that knowledge, i'm feeling the napoli fit in suit supply but do you think i should rock with a london instead if you know how the suit supply stuff are cut?

I think the lighter blue suit looks fine.  I have a few suits from black lapel, and has always been pretty good experience.  Suit Supply quality is a little better, but I like the slim black lapel fit and no alterations required.

I found a Slim fitting Liz Claibourne suit at JC Penney's for $60. Took to the tailor and the suit is on point. Everytime I wear it, the lady compliments are plenty.

I usually don't quote with pics, but this is definitely worth it. Said I was going to stay off AE's but might order two pairs. The Brooks Brothers (Cap Toe) was money for me, I literally wore them out. Going to give them the shine treatement this weekend, but they have some dings that cannot be fixed unfortunately.

Lol…

I have two Indochino suits and getting the measurements right is crucial. I've said it once and I'll say it again, include a picture of you wearing something that fits you very well and submit it along with your measurements. My first suit, the jacket was terrible and I had it re-made and I included a picture with it and that made a difference. Second suit around I adjusted one measurement only and just had to get my pants hemmed and jacket taken in slightly, both costs that were covered by the $75 credit.

I've had some good finds at Nordstrom Rack ($20 Nudies, $270 cashmere Loro Piana Samuelsohn blazer), but this might take the cake. Surprised it didn't get flagged as a pricing error. I don't wear these kinds of shoes though so I will give them to my dad (who happens to be the same shoe size as me) for Christmas.

Excuse the piss poor cell phone photos. They are AE Maxfields.

Not my style at all either but that's hard to beat. Congrats and I hope your dad loves them.

About to go look at some denim at a boutique around my way. What do you guys recommend? Leaning towards a pair of APC, although I do own and like PRPS. Budget 200
