Dressing Better Vol 2.0

Leaving for Vegas Saturday and idk what to pack. I feel like I am going to overpack. I am there for 4 days, 3 nights. I know carlin was there recently, I'm interested in how you packed for the trip. Any suggestions?
I overpacked of course, did not wear most of what I brought.  I mostly wore casual comfortable stuff during the day, or pool attire.  No need to dress nice in casino, so just bring nice fits for however many nights you plan on going to club/show etc.  Rolling your clothes instead of folding helps save space in your bag, if needed.  I wore blazer on plane, so that it would not get destroyed in luggage.  Then just packed mostly chinos, button ups, t shirts, shorts, and couple pair versatile shoes.

Just checked that it's going to be in the 80's but drop to the 60s in the evening, so if it were me I'd pack the following:
1. Dark Jeans
2. 3 short sleeve dress shirts (versatile such as white, white/blue striped. light gray)
3. 2 long sleeve dress shirts (for night/clubbin')-white and light blue
4. Navy trousers
5. Gray trousers
6. Swim trunks
7. A couple of t-shirts
8. Brown dress shoes
9. Versatile sneakers

Seems like overkill

As long as you're not paying an oversized luggage fee due to it, overpacking >>>> underpacking. Not only does it give you more options but also offers a replacement for any unexpected accidents i.e. spills, tears, loss, etc. While those may seem extreme, it's LV so any and every thing is possible.

Ruthless  . What exactly is wrong with them? Is it because it's Jackthreads and they are cheaper quality?
They're ugly and the quality is piss poor. Any company that makes those hideous poor mans cowboy boots that look like rejected Ed hardy t shirt designs gets no respect from me

Seems like overkill

It's pretty much an outift for each day and two long sleeve shirts if he choose to go out to the club and whatnot. Could probably due without a shirt or two but otherwise this should fit in a checked bag and still have space.

Lose the Navy pants. Take a pair of versatile sneakers that you could still possibly wear out at night.

Take a hoody in case in rains.

After the Nets game, walk a few blocks up to Christies and get a beef patty and Ginger Lemonade or Pina-Passion.

Thanks for the suggestions :pimp:

I finally packed last night and this is what I ended up with, remember its 5 days/ 4nights

- charcoal wool bubble vest
- light denim jacket
- a couple of versatile tees
- a gray long sleeve henley
- gray tweed blazer
- j crew urban slim army green pants
- j crew urban slim navy pants
- dark brown clark db's (gonna use these as my every day walking around shoes)
- dark brown monk straps (my shoes for the evenings when going out)
- 1 cardigan, 1 crew
- white button, baby blue, red gingham, chambray button downs

I feel like I can mix and match with any of these items. I'll definitely be shopping (probably in the SoHo area), so I feel like that would be enough for me. The key was for me to not bring that any pairs of shoes and heavier items. Things like the henley, sweaters, pants, etc. will not take up much space at all.

- replace the bubble vest with a zip up hoody if you have one
- replace the navy pants with jeans
- don't need the shoes (assuming you want to go to a club, you can get away w/ur desert boot's) it will be dark, nobody will give a damn about your shoes and they will get wrecked anyway.
- lose the cardigan and crewneck, you're already bringing a blazer and a denim jacket and have button downs for night life
- bring a light scarf

You might not need both the vest and the sweaters but I would bring one or the other. I don't think you need to bring jeans if you prefer chinos or cargos. I find myself these days wearing jeans maybe once it twice a month. I would still go with 2 pairs of shoes but I don't think you need to bring so many button downs. Remember, you're gonna be shopping in NY, you WILL find stuff.

NY is going to be really nice next week. Some areas will be getting in the 60s. Like others have said, I wouldn't wear a nice pair of shoes when going out at night. Drinks and other stuff will spill on them.

I know it suppose to be be in the 40's at night, one night it will be like 38-39 from what I've seen in the forecast.

I also agree with PanaRican on the chinos. Lately, I rarely wear jeans because those chinos just feel more comfortable  .

- I will take away the bubble vest and monks
- add the light scarf
- keep the 2 sweaters
- maybe only take the white and chambray button downs?

I was thinking about bringing another pair of shoes to replace the monks, but I'm guessing those DB's can go with just about anything I have on my list. Plus, I know I'll find some shoes up there as well.

Also, forgot to add that I'm taking a couple of ties too. Maybe a navy knitted tie and skinny purple polka dot.

Don't agree with any of those recommendations.
my recommendations were reducing the bulk and weight of his packing list when he's asking for versatility to mix and match. Thank you for such an insightful opinion though.

so, to reiterate:
- lose the wool bubble vest, too bulky and it's spring
- bring / layer the zip up hoody underneath denim jacket if it's cold
- wear your versatile tees underneath the hoody and / or denim jacket
- instead of navy pants, replace with dark denim. wearing dark denim will hide and absorb liquor spills when **** goes down in night life better than chinos
- those button downs are good enough for night life, throw the tweed blazer on top of any, or switch it up with the denim jacket
- again, what do u need the cardigan and crew neck for?
- wear the scarf at night when it gets cooler or if the weather warrants it, during the day
- if you want to bring another pair of shoes, bring comfortable kicks to wear during the day, wear the db's at night. lose the monk straps, they will get wrecked if you are trying to wear them out for night life.

Thanks man. I got a better visual of it now.

Now, I need to take some things out when I get home

Hey_

Suit Supply dropped some videos that I thought would be very informative for a few DB cats.

You don't have to buy their products to appreciate the info.

I had a feeling you polished them ^
Of course man haha

How do the air aidens fit compared to jack purcells or clarks dbs?
My aidens fit TTS, same with my JPs. I'd say you need to size down a full size on DBs.

Anyway, yesterday I didn't get a full outfit picture but snapped a shot of my shoes:

Today I got a full shot though:

Hey_

!

New trailer for "The Great Gatsby",

someone has to make a gif of 1:16-1:17.

I'm excited for this movie but the song from Hov and Ye doesn't fit too well. I'm also thinking the movie will have lots of designers aim at revised menswear.
