something like that
Wore a suit last time I went, which was in June.  Hope you have a table lined up, because the jacket comes off quick it's just too hot.

I'm going to be out there NYE (*#+@ it why not, drive is going to suck though

).  I plan on taking a suit as well, going with a dark color, probably black but might switch to Navy, not sure.  Don't think we'll have a club lined up, so we'll be out in the streets or in bars/lounges in the casino.

I might ditch the suit jacket though, simply because I don't have an overcoat (don't need one in LA), and it's going to be cold outside.  Might just wear peacoat, slacks, shirt, tie combo.  Taking the suit jacket but might ditch it.  I'm wearing more subtle colors though, don't want to look like Pitbull's cousin auditioning for a Dr. Pepper commercial.  Navy suit, sky blue shirt, navy "slim tie", black shoes I don't mind getting beat up.

Don't take good shoes to Vegas, you'll regret it,

Really no such thing as "traditional", white is just perceived by those that are not accustomed to "dressing better" because frankly it's versatile and lets be real, employers will provide if you work in a job that provides a suit.

You can go with subtle: sky blue, white
You can go with something more "loud": red

Charles Tyrwhitt's website has tons of shirt/tie combo's that can give you an idea of what works.

ReRetroMe-  Applaud the effort, but those two outfits have way too much going on and don't really "work".  Might want to consider a more simple approach.  It just looks too forced.

Too many clashing patterns. Vertical pinstripe suit, horizontal striped tie, flannel shirt and colorfully printed pocket square... just too much.

Tie is what really kills this outfit, would've much better off without. If my eyes arent mistaken you also have 4 different hues of blue. Not always a bad thing but for this outfit I would recommend tucking the royal blue lining of the pocket square. The contrast detracts and pulls attention away from the well fitting jacket

picked up a few wool/wool blend pants over the past few weeks.
ludlow from jcrew sale.

theory payne trousers from loehmanns

those two are at the tailor right now

austin reed from loehmanns.

also picked up some wool pants today from costco. if you're on a budget they are only $49.99. label says its made in italy and italian wool if that means anything. i know it doesn't indicate quality.

I'm not a fan personally. I think the jacket looks too professional for such a casual shirt. That's just me though.

^I agree with this and RFX.

If the suit was a solid wool or wool blend without the lines then the look would be more on point.

For the record I do not dislike the fit, I just think that there is a bit too much clashing. Definitie points though for trying such a bold look!

too much going on with this for me personally each of the pieces can go well with something but i think the shirt throws it off a lot. like RFX said maybe just solid wool coat would look better or something

I like the jacket, not a fan at all of the shirt/tie combo.  I personally don't like the shirt at all with a jacket, maybe a summer khaki.

Oversized pic I know my apologies, but I'm too lazy right now.  I REALLY hope there was a nice full body pic from the photographer, can't see much from this pic.  Had my boys wedding over the weekend in san jose.  Had on a pair of merlot wingtips.
Good thing I had a tie clip on, an ash burned a hole through the shirt on the car ride there

Cappucino or black? We think a like. Been waiting to get those for months, glad they dropped to $80 plus 30% about $60 shipped. Pretty good for some poor man Alden Indy's lol.

Wayyyy too many different patterns going on and yes te Jacket is way too formal, seems like the fit is good, just the combination of patterns badly executed.

Anyhow, I've milked the crap out of this suit, hopefully I'll get a tweed brown one for Xmas, this suit has been my go-to for all the events I've done...navy blue has to be the most versatile color ever for a suit...that and black.
