dam sure was
one of the best i've seen , i've dam near watched them all on netflix ......
I finally got around to watching 30 for 30's recently and out of the 9 or 10 I've watched so far...the Bartman one is the absolute best. You know it's a damn good documentary when you show it to people who have little to no interest in the subject (a few friends of mine who don't follow sports) and they're left impressed & wanting to talk about it for days. We had a great conversation about it.awesome post
the Bartman 30 for 30 was incredible
really looking forward to these especially the Broke, Ben Wilson and Bo Jackson docs
Looking forward to both of these.Broke (Billy Corben)
Broke explores the roads to fortune in American sports and eventually, the many detours to bankruptcy. Bernie Kosar, Andre Rison and Cliff Floyd are among the athletes who talk openly about the challenges of managing their money in an era when big contracts don’t necessarily support bigger lifestyles. Sucked into bad investments, stalked by freeloaders and saddled with medical problems, many pro athletes get shocked by harsh economic realities after years of living the high life. A story of the dark side of success, Broke is an allegory for the financial woes haunting economies and individuals all over the world.
You Don’t Know Bo (Michael Bonfiglio)
Bo Jackson hit 500 ft. home runs, ran over linebackers, and—for a small window—he was the best athlete we had ever seen. You Don’t Know Bo is a close look at the man and marketing campaign that shaped his legacy. Even without winning a Super Bowl or World Series, Bo redefined the role of the athlete in the pop cultural conversation. More than 20 years later, myths and legends still surround Bo Jackson, and his impossible feats still capture our collective imagination.
Heads up for those anticipating.•Saturday, Dec. 8, 9 p.m. – You Don’t Know Bo (Michael Bonfiglio)

ESPN 30 for 30
Survive and Advance, which will air on March 17th at 9 PM on ESPN tells the story of the NC State Wolfpack team that came into the ACC Tournament needing to win the automatic berth to make the NCAA Tournament. Of course, Valvano's Wolfpack won both the ACC and NCAA Tournaments, beating Houston in the National Title game in dramatic fashion, cementing one of the most famous underdog stories in sports. The film will be directed by Jonathan Hook and told through the eyes of NC State captain Dereck Whittenburg.
Elway to Marino, which will air on April 23rd at 9 PM on ESPN, tells the story of the 1983 NFL Draft, which ended up being one of the most significant in the history of the league. The film will be told through the eyes of the notable players drafted, including John Elway and Dan Marino, the executives, and agents involved in the draft.
Holy Grail: The T206 Honus Wagner TBA
The T206 Honus Wagner baseball card is over 100 years old, worth more than 2 million dollars, and has a life story that is a marriage of myth and reality. Only a handful have ever come to market but the wealth and heartbreak created by this two-inch-tall piece of paper is unimaginable. The T206 Honus Wagner: equal parts nightmare and fantasy.
The Other Side TBA
When 18 children - nine from Palestine and nine from Israel - come together to form a kids soccer team, they come face-to-face with the other side for the first time in their lives. United by the common goals of teamwork and dedication to a shared purpose, they confront generations of fear head on. Is peace through sports really possible, or is it hopelessly naive to think that a handful of 12-year-old soccer players can begin to change their world?
Silver Reunion TBA
In Manchester, Tennessee a secret meeting will take place. But this is no ordinary gathering; instead, a monumental decision will be made. Forty years after the USA men’s Olympic basketball team declined their Silver medals after controversially losing the Gold to the Soviet Union, the 12 players from that team will gather together, and like the jury in 12 Angry Men, they will come to a unanimous decision – accept or refuse the medals for a game many of the players believe they never lost.
Tommy and Frank TBA
An intimate, funny and compelling take on the unique relationship and shared legacy of Tommy John, the chatty Indiana lefty who won nearly 300 Major League games, and Dr. Frank Jobe, the unassuming L.A. Orthopedist who conceived and performed a revolutionary elbow operation on John in 1974.
