I won't ever judge a person on how they spend their money. Whatever makes you happy in this life that you have one shot at, do it.
Have you ever thought about how people who work at Wal-Mart, for minimum wage, struggling to make it day by day, who buy one pair of shoes from Pay Less a year just so that they don't walk barefoot on the floor look at the average Niketalker who sends $1000's of dollars on shoes, hell, even buying multiple pair of the same shoe in different colors, the same retro Jordan's every couple of years......man, forget the struggling person at Wal-Mart, take the average American, and think about how they view the sneaker culture?
That's right, the entire nation looks at us sneaker fanatics and think our spending habits are excessive and plain stupid. But at the end of the day it's our money, and we do whatever we want with it right?
I respect that kid. I'm sure he knew he was in for it for the illegal trading, so didn't sound like a bad idea.
