Fake Sneakers at Nike Outlets?

Saw these at a Nike outlet in Boston and couldn't believe my eyes. I grabbed them instantly, about to solidify my purchase, but then I looked at them moreclosely, and to me, they looked "off".

They looked funny, like they were fake. So I asked one of the guys that worked there. I told him this may sound like a stupid question, but are these real orfake? He told me that someone just returned these this morning. He also said that all sneakers are checked, and that they scanned the barcode and matched it towhat they have in the books, and if it doesn't pass, then they don't take em. So obviously these passed, but despite all that he said, they just lookedfake to me. Now, I'm no expert, and far less knowledgable than people on here about spotting fakes. But from things I've picked up on here, here iswhat I saw. The font on the tag looked different, The "C" looked off, and the date is not touching the barcode.

Another thing that made them look wierd was the inside tongue:

They look poorly sewned.

And check out the letter "I" in air max on one of the insoles:

Either it's crooked because they are fake, or because they are cheaply made and is moving or coming off because of wear.

And look at the ironed vertical lines on these:

They're suppose to go all the way up and not "peak"...at least that's what I think.

Now, fakes usually come from China and most legit pairs come from Vietnam, but these just looked off. And they checked out from whoever checked them(don't know if they checked the style number or what, but they passed). So I had to make a pimp decision, and NOT cop.

So did I make the right decision? Are the real or fake?

And if they are fake, how the HELL could they pass Nike's system, and allow fakes to be sold in an official Nike store? Myguess is that the bootleggers aregetting etter and better and mad them good. If so, that's scary cause now people could turn a profit by getting fakes and returning them to Nike spots toget their retail value.

ugly b grades possibly?

and also, why would 2005 releaese be allowed to be returned?

naw man. don't even entertain the possibility of those being legit. They are fugazi. And the barcode on the tag was probably just cloned from a realAM95 and returned with no receipt. Wouldn't be shocked if its an employee.

Fakes without a doubt.

The barcode they scanned probably matched up with another AM95 and the employee just let it through. We all know that most of themare not knowledgeable

I have no idea what those stamped boxes were, or means, but the box I found these in had no top. They were against the wall....I'm guessing in theclearance section since they weren't on the shelves like others that had a lot of pairs left.

the stamp on the box is for another shoe.

looks like nike's loss prevention has to add another step to the return process. the cashier shouldnt be blamed for this because all they are taught is tocheck the style and color code to make sure the product is in the system. the cashier shouldnt be expected to spot fake air max 95s unless they are trained inthe area, which they are not.

but now someone is going to purchase those fake 95s from the nike outlet as if they were able to catch a deal. look out in the pick up thread for an upcomingpost that starts off "look what i found!..."

yea dudes be doin that around here
1. they will buy the regular all white AF1's
2. buy the fake all white AF1's from the "shoe man"
3. put the fake ones in the real box that they bought from the store
4. take them back and get there money back, lol

people do this all the time around my way, ive never done it though

shocking... they even got the barcode right as well??? the only reason they took them back is because they were able to match the barcode scan... wow...

yeah deff fake i just compaired mine to them. same barcode but the rest is messed up. take um back. and let them know.

i just compared them to mine, and aside from the shoes in the outlet being an oddly shaped am95, i checked it with my sneakers of the same colorway and thefont was off on the copyright symbol. also, my sneakers say FABRIQUE AU VIETNAM, not FABRIQUE EN VIETNAM

i would assume that the only way to "return" fakes to a nike outlet would be to replicate the barcode perfectly. smh to producers of fakescontinuously upping their game

I worked at a Nike outlet for almost 4 years. Someone brought a AJXVII briefcase up to me and said they wanted to return em. So I open the case and thereare these horrible black and red XVII's. I told the guy these are fake you can't return them here. The store mgr at the time entered the style # andcolor code. It was for a AJ but not the XVII. Because something simply showed up in the system my store mgr. let the guy return the shoes. I told him theywere fake but............

I would've lost my job if I worked in a shoe store and my manager let someone pull that on us.
