first time playing online since fifa 14 and not much has changed

I'm still buns as hell, what's the best way to get better at this game? Currently in D10 with 1W and 4L

Edit:took my 5th L just now, lost 3-0

man played with Chelsea took 19 shots, 13 on target. Had 20 tackles but not 1 foul...how?!

That's how it was for me on FIFA 17. I guess learn how to dribble, don't always run straight with speed button, that's too predictable. Learn how to defend with teammate contain so you don't pull ur players out of position. I still need to learn how to press with tactical and shield/physical buttons.

From someone who has played 14-17 there are a lot of differences. This year you have to be aware of space and positioning on offense and defense a lot more. You dribble too close you'll get tackled. Try holding the ball with LT/L2 or let go of the turbo button in tighter and smaller spaces to keep the ball.

Also on defense you dont want to pull your defenders out of position at all. Use strictly your midfielders to press and contain and squeeze any open spaces they have.

One new thing you should definitely try to add to your game this year is the low driven shot. Practice it in skill games and it will be your best friend through on goal 75% of the time.

But yeah I don't know what happened I was in FUT D2 in seasons consistently for a while and over this past week im about to get relegated to D5 

 I think I just need to take a break for a while 

  but I still gotta cop that 85 De Rossi and the new POTM Son for how i wanna build my squad now

Sonaldo is an absolute god. He has a huge impact on my game considering I'm a division 6 or 5 player, in other words pretty bad considering my stacked squads. 86 MOTM Son has saved my *** from losing against my friends many times 

Upgraded to the new POTM Son and I can definitely feel the improvement. Considering the relatively low price of his POTM it's 100% worth it.

This guy helped out my play a lot, especially in my defence. And he has placed #1 in FUT champions. His channel is Boraslegend.

None of the theatrical stuff like Ovvy does in his videos, this guy gets right down to business and explains everything in a calm manner.

These videos in particular really helped me out and improved my play significantly:

I've learned to cover key passing lanes better, defending with the jockey button, teammate contain, ...

I used to concede more goals and often caused penalties because I was struggling to figure out how to defend in the box. Now it's been ages since I conceded a penalty and I can fend off attackers much better.

I bought Sanson from the TOTS Most Consistent for my French/Ligue 1 hybrid squad. Trying him out at CAM for the moment in replacement of MOTM Germain.

He's been very good so far, better than Germain.

This is the current squad he's in:

Sold off some of my expensive players a while back to have more coins available for TOTS so the squad used to look like this: (Lacazette is untradeable and I really enjoy Fekir so I kept him)

I definitely want Cavani back too. If his TOTS is too expensive I'll buy back his 91. I'll probably put Lacazette at CAM then as I want to incorporate Laca, Cavani and Fekir in my attack. Sanson will then presumably replace Matuidi

I really didn't like Schmeichel though, I tried his 88 card and he was horrible for me. The chem style I put on him was Wall

Sold him and went back to my man Lloris, who is pretty much an actual wall infront of goal
