Played the demo against the AI, immediately fell in love. Biggest and most noticeable things to me were the weight of the ball, touch and in game and menu tactics.
The weight of the ball seems very heavy this year. I expect people to score some bangers and screamers from long distance. The ball aerodynamics seem to be a lot more realistic and certain shots really make the ball move. It felt like shots were all assisted and aligned to the same spots every time in 18.
First touch is a little OP right now IMO. If I knock it on or trap it, the ball always stops on a dime. I feel there needs to be a little more error depending on the players dribbling stats.
In game and menu tactics have a complete overhaul. You can now have different playstyles and really see the players reacting to your settings. I noticed menu tactics are the same with "cut in, stay wide". To me it felt like I didnt see a difference with menu tactics just like in 18. Players still stay wide when I set to cut in.
The in game however was impressive. I set my defensive tactic to press and my players literally left their man to press the ball. At least 3-4, even 5 of my players were constantly pressing and applying pressure to the ball handlers. Big fan of this because this allows more different styles of play. I left so many holes in midfield by doing this but I liked the idea of it because that's how tactics should work.
Overall, I hope EA let's FIFA 19 be FIFA 19. They should only update or fix game changing bugs and not revert back to how it was in older games. It felt like FIFA 18 and 17 were the same game and that's what put me off. I will strictly be playing Pro Clubs, Career Mode and maybe FUT without spending any real life money.
