Was at a dtlr few weeks back and saw a pair on display. Every bit of dust that was in the store was visible on them. They were stained from being handled by customers and were completely off putting.
Yes. They are DIRT MAGNETS.
I'm probably in the minority on this, but I like the solid outsole. My Cactus 1's still look nice. The colour on the outsole still pops. That colour on a translucent sole would be looking pretty bad this many years later.
factzIcy red>solid red hands down

Still got my cactus joints.
Solid release.
Btw, 09 eggplants sold out quickly, so those chain of events can't b all da way connected.
I did said sold out, guys on Twitter were talking about a restock a few days agoAnyone else get a snkrs notification for the blue mirror foams?
Quality wasn't that big of an issue like it is now. They were on par with the 2nd release of champagne foambs.Quality wise? Hell no.
Those cough dropss rotted on shelves so long lol...
Once da solid reds went down to 150 they were gone.
Coppers sold out. They never sat. Some of yall might not remember, but mass release foams went on sale in the cough drop era. That includes the 2010 pearls, cough drops, 2010 eggplants, and I think coppers at some spots. The lack of love wasnt specific to that one color but here is my 2 cents on it:
The problem with the cough drops were that compared to the 07 black/red colorway, they just looked off. The black upper looked worse in comparison and the china mold (vs Taiwan which was the 07 black/red) didnt look as good either.
I personally would have loved to have the 07 black/reds but with the soles tinted in the same shade or something similar but not as dark as the cough drops but im cool with both.
I do agree that it was odd that the full release of the cough drops was so cold with the public but something was definitely going on there. If anyone remembers, they were RTV'd very quickly by Footlocker and fam stores. Like within a couple of months of release. They didnt even bother marking them down in-stores. Just packed them up and sent them out.
Also, if anyone remembers, there was a cactus foam sample that we thought we were getting and we got swindled on. In hindsight, either was cool but we were definitely pissed that nike swapped the soles on us. Dudes actually ordered pairs not knowing the soles were different.

But I bet u wasn't saying the solid red soles were better than the clear red sole when released at Harlem HOH initially. Everyone was like this is how it should of been released instead of that solid red sole. They just over produce tf out of a $200 shoe. That's why they rotted... just like the solid reds. They was sitting at a few stores in the DMV over a yr n half later.
And oldhotdogwater you got it b. Coppers sold out instantly because you said so.
There was a reason why i said the coppers might have been in some places. If anyone remembers, the coppers release was a mess. An absolute mess. Delayed shipments and bad weather caused a lot of drama for thirsty dudes including me.
Also, the coppers kept popping back up on nike.com (anyone remember team swoosh that kept ordering pairs for 120 and hooking dudes up below retail?) and were returned a lot to outlets and stores when the resale market dropped on them. Dudes were even trying to exchange the coppers for eggplants at the foot stores.
