I’ve had burgers from shake shack twice, both times they were forgettable. Don’t know if it’s the seasonings or beef quality but 5 guys definitely has the better burger patty. I do wish 5 guys had a turkey burger though.

Go back and try it again. My first time eating it, I thought it was overhyped. I went again second time and fell in loveeee....

Btw I don’t eat meat anymore. But if I did have cravings I’m going to Shake Shack.

Who says both can't be good? I make a mean burger, but I appreciate a quick, well-made smashburger.

Shake Shack uses Pat LaFrieda meat (at least at my location, can't speak to the rest), and puts actual thought into the construction of the burger. They toast the inside of the potato bun in butter to create an actual texture contrast, they leave the hinge intact so all of the juices soak into it and your toppings don't fall out, and they're thoughtful enough to even change the chop/type of the lettuce depending on the sandwich (burgers get full-leaf bib lettuce, chicken sandwiches get shaved iceberg). These are details you really don't see anywhere else.
