I’ve been curious about that baked pasta though. Not gonna lie, looks pretty good.

Yep. That jollibee sweet spaghetti. Kinda nasty now that I’m grown.
never eaten there
Underwhelming to say the least
Don’t. Lol, it’s a Filipino fast food joint.
at folks hypedPeople hyped it because Bourdain cosigned it.
It looks terrible .
The idea of fast food spaghetti? Nah
10 mins pressure cook.then 15 air fry in the Ninja Foodie. olive oil, oregano, garlic, salt pepper/whatever bbq sauce you wantwhat kinda chicken
how was it seasoned and prepared
at folks hyped
cause a white man told em it was good
No offense white folks
I meant that respectfully
Regional no doubt about it.Cultural or regional?
You just happened to have bechamel on hand? Pics?Nah but I made lasagna yesterday and realized I left the ricotta at the store, and just did a bechamel with an italian blend of cheeses, **** was creamy and delicious. Topped with Fresh Mozzarella. Might start doing that instead going forward.
Cultural, I feel like that’s a black thingwhat about sugar in the spaghetti
#cultural or #regional
None taken, dude. I’m Filipino, and I don’t really mess with jolibee these days. It’s just childhood memories. They are weird though. Filipino food in general is weird as hell anyways, my G. Not a lot of people can stomach it.Tried it three different times three different items. All trash!!! And I like weird ****.
Edit: No disrespect to my Filipino folks by saying “weird” but that spots representation of food is weird. My sisters half Filipino and her pops has shown me real Filipino food.
Was it your first time? Never heard of anyone comparing it to a cheesesteak. It’s more of an Asian style cold cut combo with pate for the OG version, followed by grilled chicken or pork. A freshly baked crispy baguette makes a big difference.banh mi is just on another level... its similar to a cheesesteak because it has beef and its shredded but the taste is just something else i cant even explain it... had this last week at the us open last saturday just never posted it
Ahh gotcha. Was the place Americanized or an actual Vietnamese own joint? Shredded beef isn’t commonly used. You gotta get it from a more traditional Vietnamese shop.^ ya it was the first time i had it... the taste is nothing like a cheesesteak... i was just comparing it to the shredded beef which is similar to a cheesesteak... but ingredients and taste is different... it was definitely a good sandwich and something i would have again though
In New Orleans, there are places that make Po Boy and Banh Mi mashups. I haven't been there yet, unfortunately but I am eager to try.Was it your first time? Black and Filipino, we also put sugar in our spaghetti. But Filipinos are also the black people of Asian people. So, yeah...just black I guessCultural, I feel like that’s a black thing
There is a Vietnamese enclave there supposedlyAhh a fusion type of place? Sounds interesting!

I didn't know about that place. I am surprised we do not see more mashups in the Bay Area. It is usually Korean Tacos and that is about it.Somewhat off topic...but there was a spot in Oakland across from the Burger King near the 23rd ave exit, it was half taqueria and half Banh mi shop. They sold carne asada Banh mi and other meat like al pastor. Everything you could get in a burrito, they could make it into a Banh mi. It’s no longer around tho.
I guess it’s tough combining diff cultures into one with food around The Bay. People enjoy food the way it is here. If there is a mash up, it’s usually just a novelty and once they tried it they don’t go back.I didn't know about that place. I am surprised we do not see more mashups in the Bay Area.
