Mrs. B day weekend so takeout from one of her favorite spots.

Boqueria

Seafood Paella

Shi****o peppers

Croquettes (I forget what’s in them)

Patatas Bravas (spiced potat

Lamb skewers

Lamb meatballs

Bacon wrapped dates

Got food poisoning at boqueria. Food was amazing. But I ate that lamb and it may have been undercooked. Tough 3 days To say the least.

Breakfast sandwich with Veggie Bacon, Vegan American Cheese and an egg from lawdog1 Family Farms/Menagerie. On Multigrain Sandwich Thins.

Was pretty good. Debating making a second.

Got some cut up chili bacon and some corn masa lightly fired in the remaining bacon fat.

Still room for some improvement with the homemade tortillas. I think, I need more heat.

Have you tried Hub's, Dengeos, or Grecian Kitchen? I grew up on Hubs and its my favorite. It's the one SNL did skits about back in the early 90's

There’s a spot on the northwest side called nick’s drive thru(Harlem and touhy)
They make homemade gyros from scratch it’s really good
I like the frozen packaged gyro meat most places use(Kronos)
But doesn’t compare to homemade
The Works in glenview is pretty good
I think they make their own pita bread and sauce

I've never been to a joint that did frozen b4. Joints gotta be authentic if im ordering out. There's gotta be a vertical rotisserie at the very least.

I actually went to a place where they actually threw some pre sliced packaged gyro on the griddle
It was the worst gyro sandwich I ever had lol

If I’m getting a gyro and I don’t see a vertical spitter I’m walking out
Those gyro kits you see at the grocery store are god awful

I tried them when I still wasn't goin out to eat couple months back. They weren't too bad, but definitely off. Super greasy too. I threw min in a pan and baked them.

Still haven't ordered take-out from anywhere yet since covid. This will have to do I guess. No bad.
