Last night I got my sis a Sony dsc w230 off craigslist.

I had no idea they use the special memory sticks. She was hoping to be able to use her mini SD cards. I found an adapter online where you can put the mini SD cards into the memory stick to use for the PSP. Would the adapter work in the camera or is buying the memory stick a must? Thanks

Adapters should be fine. The newer sony cams now take other forms of memory along with their proprietary memory sticks if using said adapters. Sony is always known for installing proprietary components in their products.
