hey Beatslim, my man... its back!

FP1 in a few hours... Silver Arrows FTW!

Are we gonna have official posts for each GP or just one big F1 2008 post? I think we should just keep it to one post... like the other sports/leagues...IMHO...

haha I thought about making a thread for this on Sunday but then realized that somewhere around 15 Nters actually care. nice job though. I'm anxiouslywaiting. It has been entirely too long

Hmmmm yeah I think one post for everything F1 is a good idea as well. Now that threads dont die after 20 pages we can just let this post floataround until the next race or for any kind of news updates.

Nice to see the F1 regulars on here coming back

^^^ Yeah the winter tests seem to have flown by, I cant wait to see how the cars handle without any traction control this year, should be a good season

Agreed. Every English athlete sucked that week, we lost absolutely everything we took part in.

Hopefully this year will be a good one. Last season was one of the more memorable ones in recent memory.

they also need to make a new formula one game for ps3, quick. the last one was for the 2006 season. you can't just skip years.

well the spinouts were likely due to the lack of traction control this season... as well as the 'green' track as there hasn't been much rubber laiddown on the road surface yet...

specs for 09? for starters, the slicks are back...

I forgot about the slicks (shows how little I'm following the series these days)...that's good news but I have an issue with the regulations changingseemingly every year. And I was alluding to the lack of traction control but I was half-asleep and forgot to mention it heh.

yeah, there have been a lot of changes over past few seasons... some good some bad... like the changes to quali have been fantastic... and its gettingbetter, with shorter 'fuel burn' sessions from last season... other changes include (as mentioned) no traction control and launch control, a standardECU (electronic control unit), and transmissions having to last 4 races
teams will probably begin testing the full-slicks this summer...

the most interesting bit will still be the issue of TC... look for cars to 'fish-tail' a lot more when under braking and coming out of turns...

im interested in seeing the cars slide there way around corners this year, hamilton had been doing that last season at times, so it should be fun to watch, also cant wait to see how the new quali rules go, Q3 should be exciting

I remember people online were saying knockout qualifying would never work but I like it. And it's good they shortened the Q3 so that drivers have to make alap and not spend the first half just to burn off fuel.

Scuderia Ferrari generally sets the standard in terms of reliability. However, ever since Michael's disastrous Suzuka outing a couple of years back, SFhas had the tendency to have problems at the worst possible moments. This is NOT how Kimi would like to start his title defense but maybe we're in for atreat of spectacular drive by the Kimster, who knows. BMW Sauber is looking real strong with those horn frog aeros but it'll be interesting to see actualrace pace for VMM, SF and BMW Sauber come tonight.
