Finally saw Apocalypse, I actually enjoyed it alot. The Apocalypse outfit was def horrible man, those tubes to his head pointless, remove that and could've looked waaaaaay better. HATED how JLAW was front and center, should've had Charles or Cyclops be pushed more. AND man I just want beast to be beast, not hank controlling with prescriptions lol

The Wolverine and danger room scene at the end probably my fav part of the movie.

Next time Fox cast someone to play a fully makeup wearing character, it needs to be in their contract that they stay in that "makeup" form 80-90% of the movie.

Fox has had movie rights to Marvel's X-Men characters since the 1990s, well before Marvel became its own studio and Fox ostensibly launched the modern comic book movie with 2000's X-Men. But now, after some highs, lows and one reset (2011's X-Men: First Class), there are signs of wear and tear on a franchise that has grossed more than $4 billion.

Apocalypse, directed by Bryan Singer, earned $544 million worldwide, a sharp drop from the $748 million made by previous entry X-Men: Days of Future Past. What's more, stars Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Nicholas Hoult have come to the end of their three-picture contracts. If new studio chairman Stacey Snider wants them to return, they won't come cheap. "You're gauged by the success of the franchise," says box-office analyst Paul Degarabedian. "This one didn't engender the love of previous movies. It's time to go back to the drawing board."
Elsewhere, the reset button has been pressed. Sources say the flagship series will be reconfigured, with Simon Kinberg, overseer of the franchise as producer and writer, working on a new script. Singer, who directed four X-Men movies, will not be returning, according to insiders, but the script is being written with Lawrence, Fassbender and McAvoy optimistically in mind.
One of Fox's best hopes may be The New Mutants, a spinoff featuring superpowered teens with some overlap with the flagship X-Men. According to sources, director Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) could even begin rolling cameras by spring.

Maybe the new chairman will see how successful the Sony x Marvel collab on the Spider-Man film and that would lead Fox to have talks with Marvel on working together?

Idk, I just don't see the fascination of Mystique being such a key character in these films.

not sure what the head shaking is but NTers will rejoice from this sentence alone

This is exciting, I want a revamped fresh start. Set the X men in the 90s kinda where the Apocalypse left with the 90 cartoon roster and go from there.

That's why.

Its not just Singer. Kinberg is a huge cancer as well.

How many good or great movies has he written? Or produced? 2 maybe? 3? 4 at most? 8o

it's not the character but the actress
Its the writing actually.

You put JLaw in the role of a character she can play and she'd be fine. Trying to turn a villain in to a civil rights leader and botch it with poor writing is a recipe for disaster.
According to that article, XForce is also being absorbed into Deadpool 3.

Interesting. I wonder if we will get an Uncanny X-Force type storyline?
If it's called DP3, probably not. A bastardized versions perhaps.

I wouldn't consider it a reboot if Jlaw, Fassbender, and/or McAvoy return. They should use what has already been established in the new Deadpool movie and take it from there. Or just do it the right way and let Marvel take creative control. But that makes too much sense for Fox.

Wasn't DOFP a reboot?

Just re-cast and keep the storyline rollin...

Edit:

By recast I really just mean recast Magneto and Xavier if they don't want to come back. And lets finally let Mystique be who she really is suppose to be....a secondary character

When I Saw Dr. Strange I Swore They Were Hinting At Proffeser X When They Were Going Over The Patients, & After Hearing This News I Am Convinced/Hopeful As Eff

Now Fox was to redo the X-Men...

I don't want to go through that roller coaster again,.. :lol

Probably doesn't help people take dumps on the xmen movies and the wolverine ones. If he was hanging out with the avengers and the gotg he might stay for another decade. They'd even give him a proper movie costume.

Speaking of his current wife beater costume, have they at least had him wear the hat? I honestly at this point in time remember if he has
I thought he wore the hate in X-Men 1 when he meets Rogue...But I don't think he's ever worn the hat either.
