My jackass nephew got parole (and did time All Star Weekend for failing his piss test) for stealing a shirt from some mall in Houston and trying to jump off the 3rd floor (so I assume it must have been the Galleria) to evade capture. It was 1 of a laundry list of offenses though so maybe that's why they went harder than what seems necessary. He is also on parole in VA.

Expect a mandatory 5 years in fed followed by 5 years felony probation if he gets out. He'll be lucky if he ever gets to see the light of day again though. In this economy they aren't taking stealing lightly.
