It's the 70s going in to the 80s. It's all that self-help discover the new you sort of crap that aimless ppl flock to.

I only caught on cuz The Americans had a running subplot involving that as well.

Started watching this last night. Great show through the first two episodes. Can't wait to get home and keep watching.

I watched the movie a long time ago, and don't really completely remember the story. How do you guys feel about going into this series blind vs watching the movie before taking on the show?

Going in blind is fine. I, like you, barely remembered the movie when I started S1 and rewatched it just in case somewhere in the middle of S1. Only thing that adds to the experience are some references and call backs to the movie. I'd say S1 is way better than the movie.

In that same way, there are some references and call backs that obviously connect S2 to S1.

Was pulling up to my place tired from a long Monday after a pretty long weekend.. And was thinking what was going be on tv.. And then I remembered and remembered the preview and the ending of the last episode

Fantastic season (I'd say even better than Season 2 around this time) so far.

I agree with what was said above.. Season 1 and 2 are completely different

Nonetheless, also agree season 2 > season 1

Todd buggin Referring to himself as the Butcher of LaVerne in that sneak peek for next week.

This was a real good ep. I feel it only got drawn out when dude had to kill Dodd's daughter. Could've been done better and a bit quicker.

I really thought they were gonna kill Mike Milligan and bring in a new badass hitman or something. Nice moves by dude. It's all or nothing now though. Disobeying direct orders, he has to wipe the Gerdharts out and win decisively so he can redeem himself.

But man, that scene with her talking to Swanson got me.. Had me in my feels






I feel like every actor is nailing it right now.. I can't stand dunst, but that plays well for her character

Did not expect Todd to be on the other end of that line.. Could have sworn it would have been the real undertaker out smarting them

While that scene in the kitchen was so sad!

Thanks for your input. Think I'll just avoid the movie for now. Don't want any reference material to muddle up this story for me. Just gonna take it in as it is.

I forgot to comment on that weird room in Ted Danson's house I'm not touching it. Probably involves the aliens.

I thought his daughter was gonna die too. Specifically when she went to her father's house looking for the cat. First time when the lawyer was there I was like at least she had the gun but when she opened the door to the room I thought she was gonna die.

Hanzee slippin. I thought when he followed Todd, that he'd be dead. He did not get that big of a head start. Somehow dude caught up with his wife and are on this new plan pretending to be professional assassins

That scene with Betsy opening the door to her dad's study room and seeing all those drawings reminded me of a similar scene from A Beautiful Mind.  He mentioned that he had lost his wife... perhaps it's affected him mentally?

And also... how did Todd get Mike's tel?

I assume next ep they'll sort of flashback to what happened to Todd and Kirsten after she shocked Dodd til he passed out and when Todd ran away from the police.

They probably linked up, set up a new plan, stole that car, and really made some moves to get that # and set all that up.

Lets keep in mind that the person that kept calling saying they had info on Dodd was most likely Todd. He gave up on that and then decided to give Dodd to the Kansas City goons.
