I have been taking major L's as of late. This past summer I lost $5,000 in Atlantic City playing Black Jack. Now I am down another $3,000 and somechange playing Black Jack online. I cant quit. Every time I tell myself not to play anymore, I end up going back. Any one else got a gambling issue? If so whatare some help full ways to stop?

Man my limits suck, I try to set them for myself but I end up playing non stop

I have a gambling addiction as well. I play poker but not as high as stakes as you do. I play online but I have been winning as of late I am up about 200. Butmy other gambling addiction is the lottery (which i know is dumb but oh well) I spend about 30 dollars a week on mega millions tickets. I play the same numbersover and over again because of the probability and odds. I am afraid to skip a day of buying tickets because I think that the one time I wont play my numberswill hit. Just me 2 cents.

I'm not a gambler so I don't what I'm talking about, but what does it feel like when your gambling, what's the rush that makes yall come back?

^ its pretty much knowing that you can beat the game and eventually your money will come back to you if you keep on playing.

In blackjack, the house only has about a 1% advantage over the player depending on the number of decks in play. Online blackjack is another story because ofthe software not being totally random.
OP, maybe you should start playing a game of skill like poker instead of wasting your money and time on a game of chance.

To me it was just trying to beat the house, and when you beat the house it just feels like you have control for a minute in your life causeeverything else is eff up. It feels like you're a CEO and and you can't be touch. That's what it feels like to me.

To OP, if you can't quit, I think the only way is you're going to have to feel rock bottom. I wrote this in another thread, and I was serious. Youain't gonna quit until it brings some kind of major loss too you due to gambling whether it's a bad credit score or a loss of your GF and family due togambling. I maxed all my credit cards one time and did it real big at the bellagio. I lost it all in less than 1 hour and the pain of that financial loss hitme real hard and I stop.

i was in your position last year. pretty much the same scenario and stakes playing blackjack. i was at the casino an hour away twice a week while going tocollege and feeling like i was living a great life by getting comped rooms during weekdays, keep in mind i am a student, comps towards food, comps towardsshows and everything i could think of because i was a "high roller." not only was it hard on my academics, it affected my life with my friends aswell. they gave me a wake up call and said i needed to lay off the gambling because i wouldnt even see them for weeks on end. although i still go to the casinoabout once a month, i keep in mind of my priorities and spend time doing other leisure activities or just anything when i start to think about the casino.andit really helps me when i think about the day i walked out down 6k.

the first rule to becoming rich is to not gamble. the house always wins, and a 1% advantage is enough to create a big hole in your pocket, as seen in here.

The only high stakes gambling that I do is poker and I have been playing it for over 8 years so I do pretty well

any other form of gambling you should know that in the long run you are gonna lose money so only gamble with money you can afford to lose

I went on a cruise about 3 months ago and the dealers were winning at least 50% or more of the hands. Pulling 4+ cards and if you didn't have 20-21 youprobably loss. I love gambling but I set limits and make sure that gambling money is that: gambling money. I want to win but if I don't that's notgoing to hurt me from paying bills, eating etc.

Scared money don't make money though...

A quick solution is to uninstall the software...it will give you some time to think about what you are doing before you can start to play.

You definitely got a problem and should get some help. I was a sports bettor for 5 years(02-07) and never gambled more than I could afford to lose. I have afriend who was a gambler before I met him(mostly online poker and blackjack) and once he found out about Sports Betting(from me) he was even more hooked. Letsjust say me introducing him to Sports betting was like providing someone who smokes cigarettes with crack-cocaine. This guy is/was hooked and the last I talkedto him he was down like 20K

the problem with that is it's so easy to install those programs again. but yo OP, you need to get some help for real if it's an issue.

i was putting $50 at a time playing BJ, losing it over and over again, not as severe as you, but i def. know where you're coming from.
