GoPro Video Thread

Nice. I want to pick up a go pro but I'm debating on which model to choose. All I want to do is get some cool shots on my motorcycle/bicycle, use it for vacation, and maybe random videos when I'm bored. Would I be set with a HERO 3+ WHITE? Why did you choose the BLACK over the other 3?

Bought the Reach last Friday and almost got mad when I saw that post from slickdeals until I saw it wasn't discounted.

Might get that venturecase since it's so cheap.

I researched each model and it really was a toss up between silver and black. White was not in the hunt just because good friends that I trust told me that it was pure junk.

I ended up getting the HERO 3+ Silver through REI. They have a discount code (ANNV2014) good for 20% OFF. For the stuff I'm planning to shoot I figure the silver is more than I need.

Hey fellas just a heads I have a GOPRO 3+ Black edition brand new unopened up for sale for $325.

PM me if interested

I can't believe this company is going to IPO and make more young and old people in the Bay Area millionaires. It's pretty crazy where this company came from and where it is now and how no other competition has come close to replicating what they have.

What gopro doesn't mention is, you need more than one camera to make cool videos. Unless you wanna run it back multiple times. I'll probably look to buy a used camera the next time around.

Been using Gopro since 2009 when they first released the HD 1. Love it. Knew gopros were gonna be a game changer. Especially for my Bodyboarding (surf photography/video) and mountain biking. Been creative w it for sneaker photos too.

im looking to get a go pro but like mentioned i saw the hero 4 is coming out "soon" ive seen October of this year but the guy above me says March of 15.

Would it be worth it to get a used Hero 3 now to use and get used to it while i wait for the 4 and then use the Hero 4 along with the 3?

Or should i just buy a Hero 3+ now?

I would be using it mostly for car videos and i figure once i get the 4 i can use the 3 for outside of the car video while i have the 4 in the car to catch Audio and Video.

Im not a big camera guy and i am still in the process of learning so i doubt i would be able to tell the difference.

From the link above

The Hero 3 was equipped with an A7, whereas the Hero 4 will supposedly have an A9 chip. The GoPro Hero 3 had 4K recording features at the rate of 15 frames per second. It is rumored that as the GoPro Hero 3 makes use of the A7 Hybrid DV/DSC, 1080p60 Camera SoC, it is but natural that the new camera will be upgraded to the A9. This will mean that the GoPro will be able to capture 4K videos, at the rate of 30 frames per second. Currently, there is no other camcorder that can capture 4K videos, at this rate. In addition, the A9 will have the capability of capturing footage of 1080p at the rate of 120 frames per second and footage of 720p at the rate of 240 frames per second. This kind of recording will result in a stunningly smooth slow motion recording, due to the high frame rates. In fact, it is the ideal portable camera to have, for taking recordings under water and in other extreme sports and other such situations.

I have one but it does not get put to use. :lol

Gotta start taking road trips to places.
