In recent years the independent route has emerged as the better option over signing to a record label. The independent route works well for some but not for all, as some say there are greater financial opportunities and creative control on remaining independent and can be the future for all artists. 

NT has numerous inspiring artists and musicians, DJ, engineers, producers, managers etc. There's threads for Dj & producers and for the artists. Let's kick this off to explore the pros and cons of the indy route, feel free to drop any gems, tips, ideas you wanna contribute.

Wish I could contribute some stuff but the only thing I could really think of is find your core fanbase that's down for whatever and treat them with respect and do special things for them, like maybe sending signed items for free when you can.
