Any tips on getting into a good regimented diet for somebody who has trouble gaining weight?

I have always had a very high metabolism and a skinny build and just recently started trying whey protein 2-3 times a day as well as eating more, any other tips you can give or anybody here with the same build/situation?

Plans are to hit the gym once I bulk up, but right now I'm just doing push ups in between whey shakes, and eating 3-4 meals a day, (I hear 6 might be a little better)...

Any other tall and skinny people (or formerly) in the place today?!

Formerly tall, fit here. 6000 calories a day should do the trick. drink beer and soda. load up on carbs. Go back for seconds every time. Eat your food fast. Eat full course meal at 4am at night.

I would totally disagree with that - you want to eat well - decent portions of decent food. Don't just load up on junk - you'll just get flabby and heart disease.

You probably don't need protein - just 4 or so good meals a day - and then lift heavy.

The idea of me getting flabby is impossible. 6 ft tall, 130 pounds, haven't been able to gain a pound in 5 years. 21 years old. I drink a lot of beer, maybe not enough haha, IPAs, etc, high calorie beers. 4 am meal sounds good. 6,000 carbs a day, hmm.

6 foot 130 though?

Damn I'm 5'11 160 and I'm pretty skinny.

Anyway I'm looking to do the same, hopefully I'll be able to put on 10-15 pounds of muscle this year.

It really is bro.. I feel that completely... I've always gotten girls off the strength of my build... but as I get a little older, 160-180 is more the zone I'm looking for... but I feel you on that... all my friends who were fat used to get pissed off when the double dates would turn into menage's with the quickness...

Would it be too much to ask for somebody to give me a legit day to day diet that actually consists of 6000 calories? What should I be eating a lot of carbs? Protein of course. What else? I am a complete beginner and really would appreciate the help in getting a good weight gaining diet down.

Is there a difference between calories, and "calories from fat"? Raisin Bran is 190 Calories per serving, yet only 15 Calories from fat. Is this a good thing to be adding to my diet? I strive to reach this 6k calories a day mark, but would like to have some sort of blueprint.

Currently looking something like this

Bowl of Raisan Bran and 2 Eggs (620 total)

Whey Protein Shake (130, 750 total)

3 Aunt Jemima Waffles (315, 1065 total)

...
