That's fine and all, but the dude in the show has a damn near cult around him.
The dialogue for his character definitely doesn't help but I don't think there's any multiverse where his influence and actions in the show come off as believable.

To me, a HBO drama not being up to expected quality usually gets public criticism.

Westworld got to of criticism for a fall off is quality

True Detective S2 got roasted for the fall off in quality, by critics and online.

Broadwalk Empire minor fall off got criticism

Fam, the biggest show they ever had, Game of Thrones, got roasted for its final season.

It seems to be that people that like this show are finding it easier to act like every person that criticizes this show is acting in bad faith.

Here and Now got killed by critics. I didn't even bother watching.

True Detective S2 got flamed online and by critics, so did Westworld.

And You can catch me in both threads on here slandering them. If I am anything, I am a consistent hater.

Even easier, Trump is a cult leader too. An idiot. A Buffoon who you wouldn’t believe. You see it yet?

Even in the case of someone as fundamentally stupid and insecure as Trump, and not taking money into account, you can clearly identify several traits that allow him to do what he does. Granted, not to the extent he does it but I view him similarly as to how people describe a 'sleazy car salesman.'
You can see how his persona of extreme confidence could fool people into not seeing it as what it actually is, extreme insecurity.

With Ranieri, there's the religious angle (which is basically a cheat code) and running an MLM scheme to the extent he did would suggest he's a capable hustler.

The Weeknd's character displays absolutely none of the traits that all successful scammer/cult figures share.
Maybe he'd do better if he had even slightly better dialogue. In hindsight it is hard to come off as what's attempted to be portrayed here when you give a supposed scammer/cult-like figure the dialogue of a basement dweller writing fanfiction.

Now, it’s the weekends bad acting, and him not being a believable culture figure . And we are only 4 episodes in.

This is funny. I enjoy it. I see what they’re doing. Might not be for you! But so far, four episodes in…it has my attention. I like what I see.

Like people have called the Weeknd acting subpar from the jump. I know I did.

-Dude, the season is 80% done. Quality debate aside, it might not get a season 2 given how much it ran over budget, HBO wanting Sam on Euphoria S3 next, and the writers strike pushing everything back. So yeah, I expect more character development by now. Time running out, b.

This really might be the most pointless show I’ve spent time watching.

It had entertaining moments for sure. Cinematography was on point. But lawd the story just isn’t there. They did all that just for my mans to be around in the end lol.

And why did we have a 20 minute music session IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FINALE? They wasted so much goddamn time with the showcase, but I guess there really wasn’t much else to explore. 3.5/8 for me, with .5 solely for LRD’s yeeks always being out.

HBO wants shows that people have to watch on release - first 2 eps I watched live....then days later....then week later and now 10 days later for final ep.....lost buzzzzzzz

not one person I know mentioned watching this show((think it went unwatched among most if not all)...I didnt mention it either....
