Help me out fellow sneakerheads

Wassup yall me and my friend are having this argument. I have some low playoff 8's and low top grey 11's. But he's telling me because they are low tops it means they are not part of the retro line and are just generic shoes. Please justify me and explain why they are part of the retro line. Thanks, this is an obvious question but its the only way he will listen...

Well technically retro would mean the shoes were released before, therefore the playoff VIII's would qualify as a retro and the cool grey XI's also.  Seeing that the low top version's of the shoe are just a variation to the original I dont see why wouldn't be part of the retro line?

Tell your friend to off himself. They are apart of the retro line because it says retro on the box.

As long as it's a version of one of the numbered J's it's part of the sig/retro line.

Now if it was a true flight, fusion, etc. then no, it wouldn't be
