Help with Xbox Live and Xbox 360 update

have you tried connecting directly to your modem? If you still can't connect connected directly through your modem then it is an Xbox Live problem causexbox live has been messing up since late december

Yeah, that's actually probably your problem.
Either that, or you bought a 360 that's been banned from Xbox Live.

well, i tried just using the router alone, and also tried the modem by itself, but nothing. And my 360 has never been on xbox live before, so i dont know how iwould be banned?
