For those who are ok with the vaccine, how much would you be willing to pay to get the mRNA vaccine? Let's say you pay $XX and you'd get it by Christmas.

I would pay $250, maybe more.

Wait, you’d be willing to pay to be one of the first?

I’m personally in no rush to get the vaccine.

Since we're talking hypotheticals, I'd pay whatever it takes. While I hope these things don't end up going that route, I won't be surprised if I hear otherwise. There are alot of high risk individuals who I sincerely hope get it long before I ever have the opportunity.

That's a good point, cragmatic cragmatic It boils down to whether you'd pay to move up when you get the vaccine from late spring to early winter. But it's reasonable to want to wait a couple months before receiving it. For me, the sooner I get it, the sooner I'd feel comfortable traveling again, but I probably wouldn't travel much until the summer anyway, so it's not a huge dealbreaker.

Blake P Blake P , in thinking about this, it made me realize that it's good these decisions are not left to free market economics. Some people would have the means to pay a lot more than others. Imagine what a mess it would be with resellers and fakes.

I'm glad this is purely hypothetical and 100% support the roll-out being prioritized based on public health concerns and not selfish reasons. But I was bored so I figured I'd ask.

Unfortunately, there are many people in many countries who won't even have the opportunity to make the decision, for one reason or another. There WILL undoubtedly be resellers and fakes in some parts of the world.

My friend went to a wedding in NOLA a little before Thanksgiving. 20 people from the wedding caught it and she had a tough time with it herself. Shes doing better now but cmon, what did you expect? Saw the pictures on her gram and no one with a mask, fairly big wedding, and a night out at a bar with maskless people before the wedding also. Smh.

Strange is that she went with her bf and he didnt catch it.

Do y'all eat in these enclosed tents? Seems better off eating indoors with higher ceilings and ventilation.

Lmao this **** is INDOORS.

People are plum dumb

Those outside tents is just a way for restaurants to serve indoors
I agree it's stupid
It's the same as if you were inside the building
But restaurants gotta do it to survive especially in the winter to get around the restrictions
Noodle shops struggle when it comes to takeout
Even if it's separated you have like a 15 min window to eat it
And if you still eat it right away it just isn't the same

It's just a way to manage capacity I figure. Instead of twenty ppl all indoors you can have ten ppl indoors and ten ppl 'outdoors'

Restaurants gotta do what they got to do

I work in a SNF and folks are hyped about the vaccine. I’m gonna wait it out and see what happens with the staff and residents.

Yea no kidding on survival. Without any aid, they are dead in the water doing things like this just to stay afloat. I live in PDX where the restaurant industry is pretty vast with small mom and pop shops. They are all struggling, and especially so if they have a cuisine that is difficult to pack to go.

With this weather, I dont see how it is any different than just letting them proceed with indoor business, with the capacity restrictions.

When it initially happened a lot of people here preferred it since restaurants had a reserve system and folks were getting to try places that are usually PACKED daily.

Speaking of indoor vs outdoor.
this virus is smart.
So around my way, the governor enacted a 75 customer capacity limit on all businesses including big box. Costco and samsclub and Walmart are seeing 2-3 hour waits to enter.
So what does sams club and Costco do? They’re placing people in the shopping cart area and corralling them in there so we stay slightly warm. One Costco even added tents with heaters. ENCLOSED tents.
I saw one restaurant ordered some igloo looking dome for their tables. But isn’t it also about shared airspace and airflow?

I’m in the UK and i don’t many people personally that are trying to roll up their sleeves. Not just conspiracy nuts either.

There’s a lot of left leaning/liberal folks whose livelihoods have been effected who aren’t hopping on board with this.

Members of government have been going on the record that they’ll take the vaccine live on air if necessary to ease the publics concerns

Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

^ never understood being indoors outdoors. Is it really that serious to be sitting down eating somewhere? Just take the food home fam. If the spot is good, it will be good.

the local Denny’s always be crackin. I’m like..that grand slam breakfast can’t be that good lol.
