so I went bowling last night...at a vax-only alley?
- "full vaccination is defined as two weeks past the date of your completed vaccination course." they're not playing with you.
- vax card checked THOROUGHLY...none of this flash and pass, bouncer(!) had a computer to check against the database.
- jab duckers were quarantined w a y outside, and could not access the lanes. or the food. or the bathrooms. or the wifi.
sure it's a lot, but you really don't need to go bowling in a pandemic yeah?
the sense of shared relief and relaxation inside was palpable.
I am willing to live with this, I guess.

Seems like my work is slowly inching towards mandatory vaxx. They pushed our return to office back another month now. Going back in October rather than after labor day. Also, they said "At this time, we are strongly encouraging all employees to get vaccinated." To me, the "at this time" makes me think they'll eventually make it mandatory. They also had us enter our vax status on our company profile page

Just got back from a destination wedding in Panama city Florida .. Me and my wife both tested positive for Covid after returning... she has the shot I do not...

Happy that I have my booster shot scheduled for next week. Just have to bring proof that I fall into the category of needing it. My letter from the transplant department is proof they said. I'll be more relieved once I get #3.

I have crazy allergic reactions to pain medication (ibuprofen, Tylenol ect.) as well as food allergies that sent me to the ER more than once so I'm pretty nervous that there could be something in it to make me have a negative reaction

school just started on Wednesday for my 7 year old in Klein i.s.d. ("houston")...The neighbors kid directly across the street from us sits behind my son in class. the mom went on facebook asking where the closest testing site was yesterday. My wife contacted her and she said she tested positive. My son said the neighbor's kid was not wearing a mask and was in school yesterday. The boy tested positive this morning. My wife contacted the teacher to let her know. We have not heard anything from the school or teacher. My son has been wearing a mask as far as we know. Hopefully he does not catch it. I am pretty upset at both the neighbor and school. 2 day's in the school year and **** is about to be an outbreak.

They ask about allergies before taking the shot, but you should definitely find a knowledgeable source to answer any questions. Don't know if the more in tune folks here have any suggestions.

Maybe see your doctor and if he’s not sure have him recommend someone to see or ask.

Yeah I just asked when I got my test and they said they totally understand why I'm hesitant and recommended me going to a specialist to find out what causes my allergic reactions so I guess that will be my next move

What do they give you when you have an allergic reaction? Epinephrine? If so, you can get the shot and keep the epi-pen handy in case you have a reaction. I’ve seen this done at the pop up vaccination clinic they held at my workplace and most often the person was pleasantly surprised they had no reaction at all. They will keep you a little bit longer (~30 min) for observation Worst case, you use the epi-pen and you still get the vax protection. Of course, don’t take my word for it, but your Dr knows your condition best and can give you the right advice.

That's fair enough - but it's probably unlikely there's any issue with this. I've given about 2,000 shots now and they updated the advice a few months ago so that our questions are "have you every had a serious reaction to a vaccine?" - we've been told that anaphylaxis caused by animals or other allergies aren't a reason not to get it. We'd probably keep an eye on you (do that for Pfizer anyway) but that's all.
We have adrenaline standing by - but I've never seen it used in 6/12.
Like others have said though it would be worth asking because they can look at what you're actually allergic to and compare it to the vaccine issues and give you a better idea.

I think it's too early to say that no one would need another shot after the booster. With the numbers right now, I think this is going to be a yearly shot like the flu shot.
