A contractor found Depression Era money in the walls of a woman's home he was working on. The bills were rare, some even were 500 bills. (

At-face value: 182,000.00

Aprraised value: 500,000.00

Now they're fighting over who gets the money in court.

Thoughts?

Dude is grimey. He was hired to do a job in her home...her property. If he had struck oil would he be entitled to that as well?

well now he can be able to tell his kids/grand kids about how he lost $50k because of greed

Well he was right for turning it in because if he hadn't they would have investigated where it came from since its more thank 10k. But he is wrong forwanting 40%. I think 25% is a lot more reasonable.

not true...she just hired him to do work.
it was her decision to have the work done that was the impetus

on some real+%$!, he coulda been totally grimey and not even said anything. made up another story of where he found it down the road.

more than reasonable

If she gets the 500 grand then he will still end up with some money. He should just stay quiet. Hes not going to get more than that

She should countersue him for court costs if thats possible, If dude didnt want to take what she was willing to give him then thats on him. Is he trying totell me if he would've found a priceless antique inside her wall he would still try to claim it as his. What a dirtbag.

It looks like he might...

Kitts asserts he found lost money, and court rulings in Ohio establish that a "finders keepers" law applies if there's no reason to believe any owner will reappear to claim it.

Check the article.

For those saying that you would be grimey, what about when you go and try to buy something with a $500 bill?

If you get it Aprraised, they are going to want to know where you found it.

It would be all over the news, etc... Cuz it's a historic find.

If you are a good story teller, than you will be fine.
