Houston Rockets Thread - Preseason vs Spurs (Friday)

Right now we're paying Ariza and K-Pap 10 million combined while Parsons makes 16. It'll look a lot better when we actually manipulate that extra cap to get better at another spot as well

No TJones nor Tarik Black tonight. I assumed TJones would get cooked by Bosh, so D-Mo starting ensures that. Let's just hope Bev, Canaan, and Howard can control their matchups.

rockets scores this season
108-90
104-93
104-90
104-93
108-91

defensive intensity picking up.

harden continuing to play MVP basketball. he was good on both ends tonight. ariza shooting 60% so far from 3. beverly on fire from 3 as well.

dmo is a mystery box. he needs to quit shooting 3s altogether and just focus on posting up and playing defense without fouling

how did i forget pap :lol

he came in instantly and made a difference. this team struggles with post entry passing, and he came in and got dwight easy looks, hit a 3, and had a transition dunk. really like this guy

First team ever to have 5 straight games scoring 100+ and giving up less then 100.

Beat SA Thursday. Battle of the undefeateds Saturday and we'll make everyone question why they have GSW in front of us.

Man. I love this team.

exciting start, but we can't get ahead of ourselves yet.

harden's shot poorly in every single game so far. he's drawing a lot of fouls, but as we saw last year, he doesn't get those same calls in the playoffs which hurts his performance overall. hopefully he can improve on that. he has been playing better defense though and everyone seems to be hitting the outside shot which is great, because harden has been finding them open when he draws defenders toward him.

good win against the heat, but still have a couple of tough tests ahead of us in the next few days. really hope we can continue our streak against them.

they need to tim duncan harden... let that guy rest for the last two weeks or something before playoffs. he's just as good an offense weapon as melo/kd when energized

threes, facilitating, fts, everything.

QFT. The extra facilitating ability will hopefully give him some relief come playoff time..but tbh, I really need McHale to be the one to address/focus on this. It's simple. When our normal offense isn't flowing and we have to buckle down and execute in the halfcourt, we need a more structured offensive approach. You can't just put Harden on a island with top defenders for all of the critical possessions and expect him to carry the team. There are only a few guys in the league that will succeed in that scenario imo. (your KDs, Brons of the world)

If we're talking McHale, there's no reason Dorsey shouldn't be playing more. I'd rather him guard 4s and 5s than Papanikolaou. Daniels needs more minutes too, if for nothing more than just rest starters. We need to stop trying to turn DMO into a perimeter player, because that isn't his game. He's a solid post up player that can feast on backup bigs

Spurs tonight, wonder if Coach pop will rest some of his players since they're on the second game of a back to back.

All their starters except Splitter played regular minutes.

T Jones is out tonight.
